The Midwest Jamaica Corps is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization.  The Midwest Jamaica Corps provides leadership and direction to effect integration of all Jamaican Communities in the Midwest and its environs. The organization is led by a Board of Directors consisting  of leaders, business owners,  professors from universities, health care professionals, entertainment communities, and an array of professionals recommended by the Consul of Jamaica in Chicago.

MIJAC's  mission is to set a platform to empower communities while building partnerships and equal access to resources for all supporting groups.

We vow to improve the quality of life by promoting  educational and moral values.  The overall aim is to provide a support group for Jamaicans, create an awareness of Jamaican culture, and foster economic and educational advancement.

One of the organization’s goals is to establish a comprehensive, full-service community, cultural, resource center to serve the Jamaican diaspora.  The center will train and educate individuals in the enhancement of their skills to gain meaningful employment.  Mechanisms will be in place to serve our youth, seniors, and the under-served.   The Midwest Jamaica Corps Cultual Center will in fact prepare people of all backgrounds to compete and survive in the twenty-first century  To achieve this worthwhile goal, the organization plans to acquire approximately 50,000 square feet of building space and 10,000 square feet of parking space around the facility.

This GoFundMe account has been set up to assist MIJAC to develop this Cultural Center; where all Jamaican culture can be experienced and appreciated.  The funds will be used to acquire land or a property, and bring the vision  to reality.

To accomplish these tasks,  MIJAC will collaborate with other community organizations and utilize other entities to identify individuals who will contribute and benefit from its services.

The funds are needed immediately to acquire potential property, land, or construction of a property to be the future home of the Jamaican Cultural Center.  Any funds raised on this site will be used for reaching this goal.  We have an ambitious goal, and believe that this dream is achievable with the assistance of donors like you who would enjoy this cultural center.

The love of Jamaican food and culture is evident in the Chicago area and Midwest.  A cultural center to build on this existing love, and to connect individuals closer to the land we love will be enjoyed by many.

Please assist by contributing to this project.  There is no minimal donation, but any donation is appreciated.

We thank you in advance for your donation to this valauble project.
