Hello my name is Mark Allan Wolfe markallanwolfe.com I am a christian, father, husband, composer and lover of all people. I have been suffering for over 10 yrs with severe nerve pain , sciatica as well as lower disc compression in lower back and neck . Most recently been fighting Trigeminal Neuralgia also know as the "Suicide Disease" for the past year. trigeminal-neuralgia TN is basically chronic pain condition affecting the trigeminal nerve in the face.
I started to have these electrical sensations on the left side of my face while just kissing my wife, loving on my dog or just standing still. I did not know what was going on and like any other person thought it might just go away or something.
One day I bent over to put my shoe on and sat up and felt like a hand full of hot needles being forced into my upper gums, as the attack grew I felt as if an ice pick was beaten into the center of my skull thru the roof of my mouth. As I tried to speak and pray or call for my wife or someone to help, I felt what only can be described as electrified scissors begin to cut my upper left face off, as it felt like if someone were to try to pry your face off of your head, and the grand finally another ice pick pounded under my left eye. This was how it felt my friends, I apologize for the graphic content but nothing on earth to describe my attacks that can last up to 2 hrs of this with only enough time in between to only catch your breath.
After these attacks started I learned that pain medicine I was receiving from pain management doctors does not work at all. I then was prescribed Gabbapentin (ANTi CONSULTANT/ SEIZURE Meds,but within a week the max dosage was no longer working. Then they gave me more, yet your body becomes acclimated . I was then put on another drug call Tegretol . The dosage of this drug keeps getting higher and the side effects are just awful. I find myself always fatigued, my brain is in a fog and my memory is severely effected. ( thus making working and concentrating on my job almost futile) Not to mention it is wreaking havoc on my immune system by lowering my white blood cell counts, liver enzymes are no good. My Neurologist then prescribed another drug that my insurance does not cover and the cost is an unattainable 1,300 a month.
I have found a great Christian surgeon( Dr. Robinson) whom specializes in this procedure and agrees that MVD (Micro Vascular Decompression) Surgery IS the best option of providing me with long-term pain relief allowing me to get back to my life taking care of my wife and children and being a productive member of society.
At the moment because of Insurance issues I am in a holding pattern so to speak.. The neurosurgeon tells me that the surgery is needed ASAP but the insurance company says I have to stay on the medicine that is only putting a band-aid on the problem an additional 6 weeks minimum until authorization .. I see my Neurosurgeon again on Aug 15th and then we will be talking about surgery schedule..
If you know me you will know that it is very difficult for me to come before all of you like this and share my burden. I am bringing this campaign to my friends, family, associates, and fellow human beings asking for any help you can offer, financial, prayer and love to help me, my family to climb this mountain.
Any financial donation big or small, word of encouragement , letter of love , or prayer lifted would be very humbling as well as eternally grateful. I have walked by faith trusting GOD for everything for over 25yrs...I have seen miracles, mountains moved and met so many wonderful loving people like yourselves .
We are also trying to put together a Benefit or something with live music, food and games and such l am also putting together a way to give away a guitar (s) and also offer my producing & mixing skills any ideas or help info would be appreciated. By God's grace WE WILL over come this obstacle, for this TOO SHALL PASS this is becoming my motto...
