The Lullaby Project 3.0 is the response to parents requesting recordings of lullabies to sing to their children. Especially recordings of lullabies that remind them of their childhoods. I as a singer and educator have always enjoyed finding new lullabies and arranging them and then performing them for my families that I teach and come in contact with on a regular basis.
I have also noticed the beauty of the lullaby and how it holds so much emotion, power and potential to create and solidify the bond between adult and child. I am committed to create renditions of family favorites and also introduce as many as possible to lullabies from around the world. I believe this is the perfect time for such a project because the bond between a parent and child or adult and child as they sing lullabies or songs that are special to them displays the humanity that exists in every human being regardless of age, race, gender or sexual orientation.
The funds will be used to pay the artist researching, arranging and recording the lullabies. Also for distribution of CDs and various digital platforms to be accessed by those who would desire a lullaby. Marketing for the project and money to put up performances of The Lullaby Project 3.0.
The support for this project would mean the world to me because I am a huge advocate for the importance and power of music in the early years of a child's life. Research shows how music engages the parts of the brain associated with emotions and memory. I so want to share this with as many people as possible. I, even as an adult, have cherished memories of when my parents sang to me and my siblings. Help me share kind of humanity with as many as possible.
