Lombok Earthquake 45,000 Temp Homes
MISSION:
To provide the basic tools required to clear EQ rubbled homes, salvage the toilet (key goal) and utilise the stable base for rebuilding. The aim is to seed a tipping point effect to cause compounding growth with a target of 45,000 Temp Homes & 35,000 toilets in 4 - 6 months. The Indonesian army are on the ground and following our example. They are an integral part in seeding the tipping point and luckily the politicians are following, if a bit slowly. They realise with the impending rainy season that this is their only option. In 5 days one of our 50 man local teams cleared 80 homes. They recovered wood, nails, roofing and most importantly a stable base and a toilet. The recycled materials were used to rebuild comfortable homes and in the simple act of supplying tools, 400 people have moved away from potentially unhealthy temporary camps. Other villages have seen the example and begged to use the tools, this idea will let that happen. The Lombok rainy season is coming, the camps are in rice fields and dust bowls, and all the ingredients for a potential pandemic are in place. So Let’s buy and loan a 6Lb hammer for $6, and a pair of bolt cutters for $28, let’s give a poor man a chance to secure his family’s safety from the rainy season and tent camp chaos and infection. Our ‘50 young man’ Big Hammer Lombok Hero Teams’ every day are multiplying now … we have 8 teams now who can clear 5 house bases a day each … in 6 days our 80 family of village rampet is now 100% out of the tarp shelters, they have smashed and cleared their rubbled house, recovered the precious wood, roofing iron, nails, doors and windows frames, mattresses, stoves etc to basisRainy season is on us any week. A million people are in Camps and these are everywhere, many are in rice field or on dusty soils sleeping crammed under Tarpaulin shelters, at night many fro many the temperatures drop to 5 degrees, 100,000 to 300,000 homes are on the ground or standing dangerously for the forecasted quakes ...
More than three hundred thousand able men sit and do nothing. We have a obvious plan that big Aid NGO's bo hooed, so we have to pilot it ourselves .. and now

Our Mission: is to grow human capital by providing tools that empower people to ‘get doing’ themselves. (also small medical kits and other things like roofing nails)
- 100 teams in 3 months = 45,000 House basis with 27,000 usable toilets
- 100 Teams $98,000 - 1 Hammer Team of 50 people, Tools ($980)
- 1 Hammer Team Clears 5 Houses a day with wood, roofing iron, doors, nails, all.
- 4 to 5 toilets reinstated with good septic tanks (many toilet bowls will need replacing)
- Leaders have never worked with tools so overlooking the obvious
- All materials are in the rubble and labour is free - ‘people are not helpless’
- Temp houses take 5 men two days to Build and don’t hold up clearing process
- Tools then used for neighbouring village plus help also.
