Logan's Run 5

Hi Friends,
2017 has been a up and down ride for Logan. Earlier in the year he was fighting off a bad Ulcertive Colitis outbreak which hospitalized him for several months. Logan has been stable since March with much success from a new treatment. He has moved up in weight to 55lbs and stands over 4 foot tall. He has enjoyed a vacation with Make A Wish to San Diego. He was granted the wish to meet a Penguin. Yes that is real and his name is #161. Logan was very excited! He also met Darth Vader and Chewbacca but I will save that story for another time...As we come to the end of 2017, Logan will be going through more surgical procedures to correct the issues he has with growth and development . He will have a tough next 3 months to get through. I cannot promise that he will even be at the run this year. I dont know how he will heal and how his mobility will be come race time. I only hope that he has a speedy and healthy recovery and rehab. His surgery will take place August 29. But this kid is like Batman, he doesnt understand being knocked down. He just knows how to shoot a grappling hook and get back up to fight.

"Logan's Run 5" will take place on Saturday October 21, 2017. Race starts at 8:30am and will again be at Pete's Pond next to Wickliffe High School. We need "Superheroes" for this event. The heroes of the past have pushed Logan's Run to earn over $20,000 in race donations. We have $30,000 saved for the van to date. Our goal is to have the van in place when Logan cannot safely be placed in a traditional vehicle entry. We are getting very close to this reality. I hope to have the van within the next 2 years. Brand new handicap vans run high priced at mid $40,000. This year is looking good. I have also applied Logan to be a Scholarship Recipient for individuals with disabilties trying to raise money for a wheelchair van. We have a lot to look forward to this year and i am truly thankful for the support everyone has showed Logan. If you interested in running the race this year click on to greaterclevelandxc.com and look for Logan's Run 5. You can register online through that link as well. Below is a short story of Logan Green, a superhero who has made us believe that with courage and hope, anything is possible. This site is dedicated to my son, Logan. He was bone 4 months early and weighed less than a pound at birth. His first 7 months of life were spent in

Logan was diagnosed early in life with cerebral palsy, epilepsy, and cyclical vomiting; and he has overcome over 10 operations. His cerebral palsy has greatly affected his ability to walk, so he uses a wheelchair most of the time. Faced now with Ulcerative Colitis, his resolve has never faded. Logan has received the best treatment possible from UCP of Greater Cleveland and his school and community have risen up to make a difference in his life. He has a wonderful home care nurse who assists him daily.
Financially getting Logan the best care possible is a struggle. Having special needs requires special equipment that is financially unaffordable for most. So far there have been two golf outings and four 5k run's to support Logan's Run for a Van.
Each year we are getting closer to our ultimate goal!
Logan fills all the people he meets with inspiration and hope. He is full of JOY and Happiness. We hope that his story will motivate all who reads it to never let go of hope! Thanks for the love and support!

Sincerely,

Logan and Lance Green
