Teach an adult, reach a child

Literacy Volunteers Association: Improving Lives Beyond Words

Imagine being unable to complete a job application, understand a doctor, or read to your child. In New Jersey, 1 out of 6 residents lack basic literacy skills. Nationwide, 43% of people with low literacy skills live in poverty.

Literacy Volunteers Association Cape-Atlantic, Inc. (LVA) is a non-profit, volunteer-based organization that provides free literacy education to adults in the region.

Due to state budget cuts, LVA is losing more than $70,000 in funding, nearly half of our annual budget.

We need your help to continue training tutors and teaching students. For $100, LVA is able to train a tutor. For only $35, we can provide materials to teach a student.

Until now, only 4% of LVA’s revenue has come from donations. But if we want to continue helping families succeed, we need your help. When you donate, you are improving lives beyond words. Thank you for your support.

Literacy Volunteers Association Cape-Atlantic, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization and all donations are fully tax deductible as charitable contributions within the limits of law.
