Volunteering in Ghana Orphanage

Hi, I'm Lindsay. Or Coop. Or Fireball.
Or that girl you sat next to in 7th grade English. Or the girl who couldn't stop laughing in your improv class. Or the girl who occasionally pops up on your Facebook wall. Or I am your friends' daughter, your family member, your friend. Or perhaps you don't know me at all.
However you ended up on this page, I am writing to you personally asking for help.
For the past couple of months, I've been wrestling with a desire to find meaning in my daily life. I am so thankful for my life here in San Francisco and wanted to find a way to show thanks and appreciation for the good things that have come my way.Thanks to a chance meeting in a chocolate museum in Cusco, Peru, I met a volunteer who was working with IVHQ.com . She was over the moon with the company, citing how incredible her experience has been, how rewarding the work. I took this information and stored it in my back pocket until now.
Last week I accepted a position to volunteer with International Volunteers HQ - in Ghana, Africa. For 6 weeks starting July 1st, 2015, I will have the opportunity to work in an orphanage, taking care of and simply offering love and affection towards children who need it.
I can't put into words how passionately awakened I feel to partake in this journey and I hope you can take a moment of your day, right now, to help me do the best job I can possibly do.
I am going to shamelessly ask you for money. Money to help me get there. Money for toys, books, medical supplies. Money that can really make a difference in these children's lives. Even a little bit can make a huge impact. I will be able to outline where and how this money is going to be dispersed as I continue a partnership with this organization. Please look out for updates.
