Round 2-Metastatic Breast Cancer

Hi.

My name is Elizabeth McPeek.

Some of you coming here already know me but for those of you who don't, I want to tell you a little about me and why I'm here.

I'm a normal everyday person. I love to laugh, I love to game, I love to enjoy life.

Through many years I have sought to save dogs and horses from a grim death. I've been a volunteer rescuer and spent my time trying to save these animals and find caring, loving homes. Thorough my efforts and the efforts of others working alongside me I have saved hundreds of these poor creatures. I am immensely proud of my work in this regard.

But in seeking to save others and giving them a more beautiful life, my own world was sent reeling when I was diagnosed with cancer.

I've had my moments of woe and self-pity. Anyone who faces this diagnosis at some point asks Why Me?

The difference is that I refuse to collapse inward.

You see, I'm a fighter. For a year I have fought and battled and endured numerous doctors and exams and surgeries.

Cancer is a funny thing, though. It is a fighter, too. And my cancer is back.

And like all fighters who sometimes find themselves up against the ropes, I have found that I need help. I'm going to keep fighting, and I'm going to win, damn it.

But I need help.

With my present income, which is fixed, I fall woefully short of the cash I need monthly to make headway and stay ahead of the game.

My car isn't the most sound vehicle on the road. It needs repair. Front tires are going bald and my car doesn't have heat due to an electrical short in the dashboard. I know that I cannot always rely on others to rearrange their schedules to get me to and from doctors visits. I need to be self-sufficient in this regard. My visits require a 30-mile round trip, and with my income I can fill up my tank once a month. Additional funding that help me keep gas in my vehicle would be an immense help. Having an extra few bucks here and there to aid with additional costs would certainly not hurt.

I'm not one to easily reach out for help. I'm a strong, independent woman, but I have to say that I NEED help.

Not to put too fine a point on this but my life, literally, depends on help.

Know that I am beyond appreciative for anything you may be able to provide that can assist me in my battle.

Every champion has a long list of supporters who have helped them through all the trials and tribulations that led to victory.

I would be honored if you would be in my corner.

From the bottom of my heart, thank you.
