Lew's Japanese Garden Memorial Fund

$2,640 of $25,000 goal

Raised by 18 people in 35 months
Lew Watanabe was a visionary and champion for the renovation and on-going support of the Goodwill Garden at Sierra Madre Elementary School. Lew willingly volunteered his time and expertise to a living memory, and history-lesson, of what it means to be tolerant and respectful. Over the years, his efforts will continue to teach tolerance, beauty, and foregiveness to the many generations that pass through the halls, and gardens, of Sierra Madre Elementary School. The goal of this fund, is to perpetuate Lew's vision and continue to heal the wounds of war.

We were proud to know Lew as our brother-in-law, a committed Christian, and a friend for over 50 years. We miss you, Lew.

Lew was an amazing artist and a kind soul. We were blessed to know him and learn so much from such a courageous man. He touched so many lives and we will all miss him so dearly. In our life times we meet so few people that shine as brilliantly as Lew did.
