My Eye Surgery Expense

$7,413 of $7,900 goal

Raised by 192 people in 4 months
A month ago or so I hit my head really hard on a gate doorI did not see, and the opthamologist who I  saw believes it was the cause of my retinal detachment. On September 22 I went in for emergency surgery to have it repaired. It was an extreme case with four detachments and one buckle - all successfully repaired. Prognosis for full recovery - which includes two full weeks of looking down at the ground so the implanted gas bubble will push the retina into place.

The total cost is more than a $7,000 expense and since leaving my job, I no longer have insurance.

Any financial help you can provide to help cover this expense will be much appreciated! Thank you!

Yesterday while working on my computer I noticed a very large amount of floaters materialize in my *right* eye. Big ones, stringy ones, etc., and my vision was quite obstructed. After my retina reattachment surgery for my *left* eye, I had been told that sometimes it happens in both eyes, and to be on the lookout for sudden changes in my right eye. So I scheduled an appt. with my eye surgeon and went there today for an eye exam. Well, not great news: the right eye had a tear in the retina. And fortunate am I that I went in immediately because he was able to use a laser to seal that tear - with 298 laser shots to my retina! Prognosis is good, and I can't exercise for two weeks (ugh). Had I not gone in, that tear would have turned into a detachment! The cost was just under $900 (better than the 7K for reattachment surgery). If you feel like helping me with this expense, I'll be grateful! www.gofundme.com/LarrysEyeSurgery

Yesterday I started my new Stop Mandatory Vaccination public awareness project: GoVaccineFree 30 second spots and interviews with parents in the Los Angeles area. This is a direct challenge to concept that we need to vaccinate to "protect" our children. Multiple parents will be participating in this project that I've been working on now for over two months. As I mentioned after the passage of SB277 (and SB792) last year, I believe a very important strategy is to increase the number of parents who refuse vaccination for their children. Keep in mind, it is the *unvaccinated* that are being targeted, and there is strength in numbers. With over 53,000 people in the Stop Mandatory Vaccination Facebook group and more and more parents opting out of vaccination by the day I believe a primary goal needs to be going after that tipping point. Your contributions help me continue to do this work. Thank you.

I saw my eye doctor today and I'm happy to report that my retina looks great and he said it has healed up quite well. I see him again in one year. It's been exactly three months since my retina reattachment surgery. I hope I never have to go through that again. I've shot a video about my experience to give healing advice to others who have to go through this surgery. Thank you so much for your prayers, words of encouragement and financial help - I very much appreciated it all!

It's been exactly 7 weeks since my eye surgery and I am happy to report that the light sensitivity has completely subsided. I noticed dramatic drops in light sensitivity each time I received a 25 gram Vitamin C IV (with other important nutrients). My surgeon had said the light sensitivity would last for three months (and it was pretty uncomfortable, to say the least, and caused headaches as well). I'm thankful not only for the surgery, but also the collateral care I have received post operation that has helped to speed the healing process. I go see my doctor next Thursday for the 2 month check-up, and at that time I will be cleared to exercise again and be able to do more strenuous activities, like ride my bike! It would be awesome if my $7,000 goal were reached by next Thursday - at this moment, that's just $665 more in donations! Thank you for your support!

How disgraceful the comments below !!! In America I think it's disgusting the amount you all have to pay for medical care and if people helped each other in the same way these people are helping Larry then a lot of Americans could support each other in the costs ! I think too shows a really unity and support and also what Larry is doing on facebook is helping millions of vaccinated injured people as well as ensuring mothers and fathers research and make an informed choice rather than an informed one. We should unite more and be less about ourselves. Glorified slaves to a system that isn't for us! We are merely profit as each individual for the government ! And now the latest is in the uk where I live they are trying to stop self employed because of the tax returns you can claim so much back. Why would they change that if they were for the people they don't give a damn about us just about what money we can produce . Debt is readily available but ways to make money and get ahead are made more difficult every year. Minimum wage went up 1st time in 15 years while the cost of living has risen daily. This shit is an absolute joke yet your more concerned with leaving nasty comments for a man who hasn't got 7000 ! Who has these days unless ur rich!? Rich are getting richer whilst the poor are getting poorer again it's a joke

I really wish I could help, I went through this same issue in 2010. I am out of work with no income now due to a back injury. I wish I could help, I do! I wish you a speedy recovery. And prayers that you reach your goal. Best of luck.
