Please help us support Langston's dream to go to college. If you have had the privledge to meet Lansgton, you will know why we are so compelled to help this young man reach his dream-to attain his college degree in teaching.
On one normal, ordinary day four years ago Langston was simply excited to begin his high school experience, and thought he was just doing a mandatory school physical to prepare for sports; he would have his whole world change in less than 24 hours. Within hours of leaving that "ordinary appoinment", he found himself following a doctor's order to board a Flight for Life helicopter. From this point forward, he and his family, had to make a choice on how to view his diagnosis of End Stage Kidney Failure-as a victim or a victor; he is every bit the victor. With set-backs along the way and hours spent tucked away doing dialysis, Langston knew his best opportunity was to get the best education he could, so he could care for himslef as long as it takes to be a successful Kidney transplant recipient.
He has done as much as he can to fulfill this dream. He has maintained High Honors academically, and sought the scholarships open to him. He chose to been active in school, although not in sports as he once thought, but instead, finding an amazing group of teachers and classmates to support him in theater. He has stayed positive and charming, and not allowed his diagnosis to rule his life, nor alter his dreams.
We are asking that you be a part of SURPRISING this young man and his family with the support only a community can give. Would you please join us and donate to a surprise college fund for Langston? Any amount will do, and all money raised will be used to offset his tuition and book expenses. We will post the special day when he will be presented with this surprise. All are invited to attend.
