LK Foundation: Bile Duct Cancer Research

Donation protected
Please donate to the Luis M. Khoury Foundation for Bile Duct Cancer research in honor of my amazing uncle Luis M. Khoury who lost the fight to bile duct cancer in 2013**

This is my personal page to raise donations to help find a cure!

**Our promise is to fight for those who cannot by creating a foundation that raises money and awareness to support research of bile duct cancer. 100% of profits will be donated to The Sidney Kimmel Comprehensive Cancer Center at John Hopkins for biliary tract cancer research.

Last year we raised $18,000 for John Hopkins Research at our golf outing and hope to do even better this year!

Dear Friends,

Cholangiocarcinoma or bile duct cancer is a rare form of cancer that presently has a poor survival rate, no proven course of treatment and is on the rise in the U.S.

In January of last year, my coworker Marie's niece, Lauren was diagnosed with CC and my uncle, Luis M. Khoury, after a two year battle passed away.

In September, my family is hosting a fundraiser in honor of my uncle Louis Khoury, an amazing man whose life was cut short way too early as a result of this devastating cancer. A prominent researcher at Johns Hopkins Sidney Kimmel Comprehensive Cancer Center is working on a cure and funding is needed.

Marie's niece, Lauren is bravely fighting CC and with help from foundations like this one we hope to find a cure!

Both myself and Marie would greatly appreciate any donation, no matter how small. Every bit helps and we encourage you to support our cause.

Regards,
Jenna Antine and Marie Zizzamia

"Primary Biliary tract malignancies affect only one in ever 100,000 people with cancer per year in the United States. It is a rare cancer and thus, unlike more prevalent cancers, funding sources are scarce and national advocacy is limited. I am deeply grateful to the Luis Khoury Foundation for their support this year, because it will help fund the important research necessary to help patients in the same situation as Luis, and eventually find a cure for this devastating disease." -Dr. David Peter Cosgrove, assistant professor of oncology at Johns Hopkins.
