Kristin & Jose "Team H" IVF Journey

Donation protected
Dear Friends and Family,
Jose and I pray that you will read this with open, loving hearts and minds, and be as supportive as possible through positivity and love. Our story is one where we will be very vulnerable and open as to not only hide the fact that not just one of us is battling the infertility journey, but in fact, both of us.

I (Kristin) have battled fertility issues for many years. In 2005, I suffered an ectopic/tubal pregnancy, followed by multiple miscarriages over the next few years. I have indeed gone through the emotional roller coaster of the excitement of a new pregnancy followed up with the sadness and guilt of miscarriage. I call Brenden and Jaxson my miracle babies that I was blessed with in between the 5 miscarriages,  and I will be forever grateful for the blessings bestowed upon me from my previous marriage.

Mom's Army of Warriors/Spartans

Fast forward to 2015. I met, at church, the man I knew I would spend the rest of my life with. Also, the first man to have met my children since being a single mom for 3 years. I wouldn't introduce anyone to my boys unless I knew that they were "the one". On our 2nd date, Jose opened up to me that he was in the process of adopting as a single father. He is an Uncle and Godfather to so many amazing kids, but because of his severely low sperm count (<2 mil), he was told he could never have kids, so he decided to start the process of becoming a dad to those who were in need of a loving father. Leave it to our Lord above to bless Jose with my (now our) two boys through our new relationship and become an instant Dad, thus halting moving forward in the adoption process. What an amazing, loving, caring, supportive, comforting Dad he is. I look in amazement every day at how he loves and protects Brenden and Jaxson as his own.

Uncle/Godfather/Tio/Padrino/Dad/Padre Jose

We knew over the last 3 1/2 years that something has been missing and that is our missing piece. We started exploring our options with fertility doctors in Las Vegas and have recently found out that it's not just Jose's low sperm count that is an issue, but along with a history of miscarriages and Hashimotos disease, my AMH levels are significantly low. The AMH levels describe the quality/quantity of eggs that I carry. Average AMH for my age (38) should be at least 2.0 and I am at 0.82.  If I get to a 0.50 then we would have to consider an egg donor. Time is not on our side and with the 30 years of knowledge and expertise of Dr. Sher here in Las Vegas, he has highly recommended we don't wait any longer to move forward with IVF, with hormone shots beginning mid August and retrieval September 8, 2018.

Our first church retreat together 2015

We have been blessed with so many friends and family in our lives that have been a part of our journey. We humbly ask for your prayers, good vibes,  love and financial support.  Unfortunately, nothing is covered by insurance, so we began saving for this procedure, but have realized that we cannot do this on our own with the time crunch we are now under. I don't want to look back and say "what if" and can't wait for the day Jose gets to hold our baby girl/boy, and know the he is indeed called Dad.
