Kristen Bratton - HELP HER BREATHE
My sister Kristen is in the hospital right now fighting for her life. She was born with Cystic Fibrosis and if you don’t know what that is it is a progressive lung disease. It eventually kills you and usually by your 30’s. She is currently on disability because she cannot physically do anything. She can’t even walk around the house without sitting down and taking a breath. A double lung transplant is her only way she will live a long beautiful life with her beautiful husband and daughter. However, she can not afford this, and she needs one. Anything you can donate will help. My sister had to be so increadibly sick to be admitted into a hospital that she has to stay WEEKS IN (racking up a hefty hospital bill mind you) ! She went to doctors appoiments and got prescribed medicine that is so outrageously expensive she couldn’t buy it! She can not afford health insurance because she has a TERMINAL ILLNESS!!!!!!!!!! Please, donate even if it is just a dollar. If you can’t because the holidays got you tight, please share this. This will be used for the testing that is required to start the process of the transplantatnd he remaining will be used towards medical expenses.+ Read More
From Kristen: I’ve been debating on sharing this because it’s so personal.... I can not even come close to saying thank you enough for all the support I am getting, all the shares, donations and prayers. You are not only helping save my life.....you are helping save a little girls Momma. We try to be open with her but not enough to scare her, but she sees how hard it is for me every single day. She holds my hand and tells me she’s sorry I hurt when I cough. She hugs me and lays in bed when I’m too tired to get out of bed. So again, thank you. Thank you. Yesterday Haylee brought home this paper from school...
We feel beyond blessed for all the support we have received from the community. We have raised $18,900 so far which is great! Kristen has her appointment at the end of January which is just to get her established with the CF clinic in San Antonio. From there they will decide when and how soon they will start the evaluation to see if she is eligible to get on the transplant list. We still have a long road ahead of us but Kristen and the rest of us feel so blessed. Some days are harder than others. Some days Kristen can't leave the house and others she gathers all the strength she has to try and live as much of a normal life as possible and although she is exhausted by the time she gets home, she does it. She does not want to be confined to one place. Please, let's all pray for her. God is good, everyday.
My sister is finally home but will be on hospice until we raise $30k to get her testing done to pursue a double lung transplant. We are almost halfway there!!!!! I want you to know that anything and everything helps. If you want to donate a different way you can get in contact with me or any family member! We are all just blown away with the generosity already. Not just with donations but with support. Please keep the love coming it makes things so much more bearable! Keep praying and keep this going ❤️ we cannot do this without you.
