Kids at Heart Madison, WI

Kids at Heart is an intergenerational care student organization based on the University of Wisconsin-Madison campus. University students provide free childcare (including arts and crafts, snacks, reading and games) to families in the Madison area at the Attic Angel Senior Living Community. Our goal is to provide companionship for the elderly, while cultivating the positive energy and excitement provided by children in the senior living facility.  Intergenerational programs benefit all individuals involved; children in intergenerational programs have been shown to have higher levels of social acceptance, a greater willingness to help and greater empathy for older people, more positive attitudes, and are better able to self-regulate their behavior. Addtionally, our program helps to reduce social isolation among the residents, which improves health and general quality of life.
     We meet every Saturday and serve college students, local familes and the residents of Attic Angel Senior Living Community. Any funds received will go towards purchasing the supplies necessary for our weekly events including, but not limited to, craft supplies, snacks and beverages, plates and napkins, and decorations for special events. We greatly appreciate any donations to our cause!
