Throughout my time in the fashion school I have been dissatisfied with the lack of quality fabrics near campus.
Whenever I need fabrics to complete my projects for class I either have to go to Joann fabrics which is very far from campus and doesn't offer the quality or variety of fabrics I'm looking for or deal with the inconvenient process of online fabric shopping.
So I've decided that I would like to start a fabric store in Kent ! My fabric store would solve these problems for fashion students by providing designer quality fabrics and notions in downtown Kent making it a convenient walking distance from rockwell.
The funds raised will go toward opening a retail location in downtown Kent. The current location in mind is 250 S water street which is only a 10 minute walk from Rockwell Hall. In order to open we would need funds for inventory, marketing (flyers, postcards, ads, social media), monthly expenses for the first 6 months of business, pos system, legal fees, grand opening party, etc
The funds are need ASAP the sooner we recieve the funds the sooner we can secure the retail space. Officially the funds would be needed by August 1st to begin the opening process in time for the start of the semester. The store is planed to be opened in late august just before the start of fall 2018 semester!
Having this project funded would mean giving the fashion students of KSU and the Kent community access to high quality fabrics to create the future of fashion !
On behalf of fashion students this funding would be a great asset to our success as students and our future carrers as fashion professionals !
