Today I put aside my pride and ask for your help. Our poor dog Kassie ruptured her anterior (cranial) cruciate ligament . Which in laymen terms means she blew out her knee. This could get better in time but the reality is that if left to heal on its own she will have many complications later which will cause her even more pain.

She was just running in the yard when all of a sudden she was limping and could no longer put weight on her leg.

We adopted Kassie a short 5 years ago when she was just a little sleepy thing, at the time we were told she was half golden retriever and half terrier mix mutt but we strongly believe she is really half chocolate lab. She has the craziest ears which give her so much character, we call her Moose because in a household of small dogs she seems like a giant. She is one of the sweetest most loving dogs I've ever known, she is one that will kiss you to death. Even as she was being examined at the vets office today she was kissing the vet's face as they looked at her obviously painful leg. Whatever she really is, we know one thing... she is well loved and we hate seeing her in pain.

Sadly due to the loss of my husband's job that ate up all our savings we do not have any other options but to ask for help for her.

This cost will hopefully cover her surgery, meds, blood work, xrays and follow up visits.

Anything you can do to help is very much appreciated from 1$ to just passing the information on when and where you are able. Thank you very much <3

Hai everyone!

I am so sorry this update has taken me so long to get out. My computer had to go into the shop and still needs to go back into the shop.

But Kassie has had her surgery and she is doing extremely well. She is already starting to bear some weight on her leg. She still has a ways to go with her recovery but she is well on her way.

Thank you to everyone for your help Kassie would not be where she is today without all of you and your help! <3

I hope I will be able to post the receipt when I get my computer back again.

Hai everyone! We have great news our cousin who fosters a lot of dogs and is where we adopted Kassie from was able to find a vet willing to work with us on the price.

This means we are fully covered for her surgery, meds and I think all her follow ups.

Thank you all so very much for your help and kindness in this journey. We couldn't have done it without all of your help sharing and donating.

<3 much love to all of you!

We have finally heard from the surgeon and got a quote for Kassie's ACL repair surgery. She will be getting a nylon replacement for the ACL.

The full amount will be somewhere between 1600-1800. Our goal is the 1800 anything above and beyond what is needed for Kassie's care that is raised will go to a local no kill animal group, http://www.acpaw.org/index.html

I have also changed the amount needed to what we now know will be the accurate amount needed for Kassie's surgery as well as the fees of raising and transferring the money.

Kassie is doing as well as can be expected, she is still limping and hopping a bit to get around.

Just to let you guys know we are currently waiting to hear back from the Surgeon we have been referred to for Kassie's surgery.

Right now Kassie is still limping and not putting weight on her injured leg. But she remains in fairly good spirits we have trouble trying to get her to STAY put when we return from putting out the trash, when we wake up and she can see us again (even though she sleeps in bed with us, taking up more than her share of said bed) or other such exciting things such as her people coming home.

Thank you again so much for all the support, love and donations. ♥ They mean the world to us!

I remember Sanura supporting the Pacific Crisis fundraiser, the Leaf on the Wind fundraiser, the Love Ulaa fundraiser, Love Donna Flora and Fashion For Life. When people and organizations have needed her help, she stepped up again and again often contributing 100% of her proceed in support. She has exemplified the generosity and openhearted compassion that for me is what makes Second Life a community. I am happy that I can help even a small part to help her in return when she needs it. As to those who disagree, guess what, they can simply not shop, not contribute and even unsubscribe so they don't ever get a 50% off sale notice ever again. That is easy and takes no effort and best of all, it does not make them look like an ass.

Wow, Leri. No one is forcing you to donate. Your comment is uncalled for and completely heartless. Not to mention, as a fellow store owner, completely and utterly unprofessional. Sanura used her group that you CHOSE to subscribe to to advertise her sale, and shared the information as to WHY she is having a sale. No one put a gun to your head to force you to shop, no one forced you to donate here. Yet you took the time to actually come here, link your facebook account and be incredibly rude and nasty to her during a difficult time? I'm utterly disgusted. You should be seriously ashamed of yourself for your behavior. You could've simply talked to her privately in world (I know you were rude there, too) and left it at that. Or, better yet, get off your butt, remove yourself from the subscriber yourself and move on with your day, rather than be incredibly vicious towards someone putting aside her pride to ask for help for an animal.

I'd like to apologize for my comment. I had a really crappy day which is no excuse obviously. I have pets of my own that I love very much. It just happened to be the 4th or 5th request I had gotten in as many hours through SL groups. I lost my cool and took it out on the wrong person. Sanura I do sincerely apologize and hope the best for you and your loved ones.

Lexi your comments are unbelievably rude and uncalled for. Sanura has been a caring and giving resident of SL and has supported many causes. She is having a sales event of products she made to raise money as is her right to do, if people want to additionally support her here that is there choice. No one is begging or demanding you buy or contribute anything. I find your behavior and attitude utterly appalling, god forbid you should ever need help. You simply need to remove yourself from the group if you are unhappy but instead you choose to play the drama queen and use your time to be nasty. The only person who looks bad here is you.

Did you seriously just spam me with your group to beg for money? Hey I need some help with my mortgage and groceries to feed my kids, why don't you give me money. Unsub me from your group please. Unbelievable.
