We all are in shock at the sudden loss of Karl Wisman on the afternoon of Saturday April 22, 2017. Karl, as we all know, was an amazing man. A good man. A man who took care of everything, and everyone except himself. He was truly selfless, and humble. It is so hard to believe he is gone, so young at the age of 52.
Karl and Brenda met 31 years ago, and fell deeply in love. A love like theirs is truly special. When they were only in their 20's Brenda suffered a stroke that left her disabled, and Karl has never left her side. He gave up his own plans in life to do whatever was best for her, including moving to Oregon which her doctors recommended. Brenda's health has declined in the past year, and her kidneys are failing. Karl, who is not one to ask for help from anyone, wrote a letter that was sent out through his company asking for someone to find it in their heart to donate a kidney to save "the love of his life." Against all odds, several people stepped forward and one was a match! Karl has been working so hard, preparing their home, and running her to many appointments in Portland in preparation for her May 22nd kidney transplant. He died suddenly of what is believed to have been a massive heart attack, exactly one month before her surgery.
We all are still in disbelief at his passing, but he would only want one thing, us to focus on Brenda and help get her through this kidney transplant surgery that he has worked so hard to get. We are trying to keep Brenda strong, and as healthy as possible. She is still in shock, not only losing her best friend and love, but also, having to be moved to Portland to be with family that can continue her care and doctor appointments.
Karl has carried Brenda this far, and we need to make sure we pick her up and carry her the rest of the way. Financially, Brenda has a long road ahead of her, including continuing cobra medical insurance through Karl's work. Please help us honor Karl, by helping Brenda. Thank you so much.
