Mother's funeral trip and related

If you know Kara, you know generosity.  On a daily basis, Kara serves others - whether it be by bringing cups of water, dropping off vegetables,  or by helping someone figure out how to navigate the education system for their child. 

Kara seldom allows others to help her, but she has had a very rough last few weeks and finds herself in a place where she needs our help.

Kara has been struggling with kidney stones lately and has been hospitalized a few times in the last couple of weeks for that reason.  In fact, whe was hospitalized Saturday night, and still in the hospital on Sunday morning when she received the news that her mother had unexpectedly passed away.

Kara's mom and brother lives in Idaho - 2000 miles away.  Kara is working on funeral arrangements for her mom, as well as travel arrangements for herself.

Unfortunately, because of her own recent illness, Kara has had to miss several days of work, and she will have to miss more work in order to travel to Idaho and attend to her family needs.  She also has to either find childcare here or funds to take her children with her to Idaho - neither of which are easy or cheap.

Donations will be used to support Kara and her family in this trying time, and to meet whatever needs Kara deems necessary.

As her friend, neighbor, colleague and community member, I have seen time and time again the things she does for people to make their lives a little easier.  I'm sure if you know Kara, you have seen that as well.
