Make It Rain KSDB Fundraiser
KSDB's programming includes a very eclectic alternative rotation along with the popular hip hop rotation at night and jazz rotation in the early mornings. While commercial radio stations' rotation music is often dictated by money, real young people make the decisions to play music on our air, and it leads to a diverse music-listening experience.
College radio offers a platform that lends to new, upcoming, and unknown artists being hear for the first time. We see it as a big part of our responsibility to support the local music scene. Not only do we play local music on our airwaves frequently, but over the past six or seven years, have developed and honed the Classroom Series, a series of in-studio sessions featuring local bands.
KSDB has retained an FM terrestrial signal since 1949. These funds would help keep that a possibility for the coming future as college stations across the country are being stripped of their FM capabilities each year.
With donations, you are giving KSDB the ability to maintain current operations (extremely pricey yearly maintenance), make necessary upgrades to stay on our upward trajectory, and support local music.
We will also be donating 10% of our proceeds to Ethiopia Reads; a charity that helps build schools, provide supplies, and teaches kids how to read in the underdeveloped regions of Ethiopia.
