KOSMOS Ministries Fundraiser

Hi friends! My name is Woody and over the years I have challenged myself with 5Ks, 10Ks, and, recently, a Half Iron Triathlon. And I have decided to make my next racing distance a full marathon. However, rather than running a race for "fun", I will be running this race for a cause.
In our world today there is a great deal of brokenness, hurt, and hunger that is both physical and spiritual. One place that I will highlight is Nicaragua. In many locations within Nicaragua, the people there struggle to feed and clothe themselves and to do so for the widows and orphans in their community.
Kosmos Ministries is an inter-denominational Christian Mission organization with the goal of meeting the practical needs of the poor and those forgotten by society. Their projects include feeding and clothing the poor, ministering to orphans, widows, and any who are struggling with the realities of poverty in the world. Additionally, they seek to operate as living witnesses of Christian discipleship, and as such they seek to attend to the spiritual needs of those served in addition to practical ones.
Now this is where you can help. We (You and I) have teamed up with Kosmos Ministries to raise $4,150 in support of their efforts in Nicaragua. This can be accomplished if 160 people decide to pledge ~$1 for every mile I run (total gift of $26.20) on March 20th in the Publix Georgia Marathon in Atlanta. This money will be used 100% in Nicaragua for the ministry efforts of Kosmos ministries.
One of the important ways this money may be used is for Kosmos Ministries' weekly engagement in a child feeding program in Nicaragua that feeds approximately 75 children. Each meal cost 40 to 50 cents and gives these children the best meal they will have all week. Additionally, it provides the opportunity for Kosmos Ministries to impact these children's lives in the name of Jesus Christ.
