Our beloved Kenneth had a massive heart attack on October 10,  2017,  his LAD, left arterial descending - the main artery that supplies blood to his heart's left ventricle, was 100% blocked. He was rushed into the cardiac catherization lab at Henry Mayo Newhall Medical Center. They quickly inserted two stents in his artery. His heart was so stressed out that he has been in ICU since then. To give his heart some much needed rest after the trauma, the doctors placed a heart pump ventilator in. The pump was removed after 3 days. The next step was to get him off the ventilator, but every time the doctors tried to wean him off of the ventilator, more complications developed. He is now in congestive heart failure, cardiomyopathy, diabetes, pneumonia with fevers, and his heart has an ejection fraction of 20%. On day seven though, Ken was able to get off the ventilator after some aggressive treatment. Needless to say, Ken is very ill, and any monetary gifts you make will be of great use to him and his wife. We are so very grateful for your loving kindness during this traumatic time and the months to come. Ken's lifestyle and daily living is going to drastically change. Your loving gifts will help wth their cost of living during this hospital stay and with his recovery afterwards. At this time the cardiologist is deciding whether or not to send Ken to UCLA to receive a higher level of treatment, but first they will perform a Right Ventricular Cath to check his heart and lungs to determine further treatment and if he will moved. His loss of work over the past few months, the unexpected high costs for his prescriptions, insurance and the longevity of his recovery period for his illness is already weighing heavily on his family. Your contribution will provide ease and comfort during the recovery period and will go directly to his wife Morgan, who has been tireously caring for Ken. Again, any loving gift will help Ken get better sooner.
Before this happened, Ken was working diligently on his Master of Fine Art in Photography. His thesis project is about how the television could be watching the viewer while the viewer is watching the television. He is very passionate about his project. Hopefully, with your gift he will be able to recover from this trauma and complete the work he has been so passionate about. Hopefully, with your gift he will have more time with his loving wife, his family, and his friends.
