A graduate of William Penn High School and Shippensburg University, Constance "Connie" Bell believed in the invaluable benefits of an education. Her college experience had a profound impact on her life and helped to shape an intelligent and worldly woman. As a first-generation college graduate, Connie instilled the importance of a good education in her family. She fought a long, arduous battle with breast cancer and succumbed to the disease in 2003, but her legacy lives through her family, friends and the The CBM Scholarship.
The intent of this scholarship is to provide financial assistance to high school seniors who value their education. Recipients should demonstrate a strong and rigorous academic record, participation in extracurricular activities and a strong work ethic.
Last's year recipient is a young lady from Philadelphia by the name of Taylor Slocomb. Taylor is enjoying her freshmen year at the University of Virginia! She plans to declare a major in the science to pursure as career as a Physicians Assistant.
