My HOME, OFFICE and WORKSHOP SPACE completely BURNED DOWN in the devastating Valley Fire in Cobb Mountain on Sept 12th, 2015.
All my belongings, art, and workshop inventory are cremated. I could NOT get insurance. I was told the majestic tall ancient trees, my guardians for 5 years, were too close to the house. I had to forgive myself for not calling all! insurance companies. I truly believed this would never ever happen to me after all the healing work I had done on this land.
I am safe. All my friends are safe. 17,000+ people with hardly any warning were safely evacuated. A miracle.
A double miracle is that Maxi, my stray cat, has found me again. I realized the cats could not find the home with their sense of smell. I remembered that I always sang healing mantras in the home, so I started singing at night, especially my favorite one : the Gayatri Mantra. And one night, sitting in my car, I heard this special meow. It was Maxie. Eventually I was able to get him into a cat carrier and with the incredible help of friends, we slowly started the process of soft and gentle domestication. He is now living in a beautiful home. Thank you Shashi, Ray, Neale and Diane for your patience, love and care for him!
TigerLily, my sweet, powerful healer cat who I love and miss tremendously has taught me so much about the different levels of 'being alive'. She has visited me in dreams. Sometimes when I feel sad, I call her to me with the help of a soft blanket and have her sleep with me in spirit form. It is really hard for my mind not to know what happened to her.
2 WEEKS AFTER THE FIRE
On Saturday, Sept 26, 2 weeks after the fire, we were finally able to drive up to Cobb for the first time. NOTHING could really prepare me to experience the destruction of my beloved forest and my neighborhood (and many others) totally burned. The heart still aches, many many tears continue to be shed, and also many blessings keep streaming in every day.
THE GODDESS MOUNTAIN TEMPLE
The GODDESS MOUNTAIN TEMPLE was a sanctuary for healing, transformation, stillness and celebration for myself AND my community.
The WORKSHOP SPACE became a meeting ground for women circles, full moon meditations, intuitive readings, transformational coaching, different workshops, personal retreats and many amazing celebrations with friends and community.
The HOME was filled with lots of art, color, and sweet gifts of people from all over the world. I applied the wisdom of feng shui in every room. Every art piece had a heArt story to tell. All visiting, loved the comfort, warmth, inspiration and healing energy it had.
This is a call for IMMEDIATE HELP and A LARGER VISION.
I keep a positive spirit most of the time. I welcome this rebirth and time for grief and renewal. However, the situation is still unsettling, overwhelming and challenging.
Here are some steps of action that need to happen:
STAGE 1:
-Stabilize myself on the physical and emotional level
-Find and create a new temporary living situation
STAGE 2:
-Offer free community and land healing and support again!!!!
STAGE 3:
-Buy or get land donated or
-Buy a Home
STAGE 4:
-Create a new Healing Sanctuary
With your help – cash is needed most right now - I wish to rebuild my life quickly.
-STABILIZE
I still cannot sleep, have nightmares, and experience a sense of strange unclarity. I am working with amazing professionals. Deep gratitude for that.
-NEW LIVING SITUATION (temporary)
For one entire year I did not know where to land. I have found a place. I have still no furniture. I live very simply. My space allows me to be quiet so I can integrate this experience properly and understand my own personal lessons in it.
-COMMUNITY HEALING
South Lake County is not the same. I can feel the heaviness, disillusion and often deep grief. I wish to create a set up so people can reach out and receive counseling, coaching, healing work for less or even free.
-BUY or get LAND DONATED
I would love to step it up and become a proper land steward to build a new living situation for myself. This is all in the making still.
-TINY HOME - creating an alternative living space
I have researched Tiny Homes that my friend Andrew Morrison build as a new living space. (www.tinyhousebuild.com). This renewal calls for simplicity and new ways of living, so I can focus my gifts on people and mother nature again. Unfortunately Lake County does not YET allow Tiny Homes.
-NEW HEALING SANCTUARY
Ultimately my larger vision and calling is to support man, women and children to connect with the beauty and power of nature to restore peace and harmony on this amazing planet. We need each other. We are the ones! We and our children lead the way! This I see happening on land with a beautiful retreat space (Yurt, Dome or Strawbale Structure) and more.
This REBIRTH is awe-inspiring, and very humbling. I am surrounded by so many angels in living form. Wow!
