Hi, we are Josue & Bailey (almost) Julio!
Planning a wedding without any financial support has been really difficult. But more than having a dream wedding with fancy decor/food etc, Josue and I simply want to honor God with a marriage covenant and the witnesses of all of our family and community who will stand behind us in our union.
Our story is very unique from the typical engaged couple... Josue and I met the day I was leaving for Mexico to be a caregiver of 80 kiddos at an orphanage, and we got to know eachother when he started coming down every week to help with my ministry rescuing children from the garbage dump, and eventually helping me care for my foster kids. When I moved back from Mexico and we started dating I had the great opportunity of loving on his daughter and helping him do all the motherly things when she stayed with him.
Even before marriage it feels that we've gone through the fire. We've dealt with distance, raising a step child, foster parenting, housing struggles, missional needs, finacial problems, racism, health problems, employment issues, schooling challenges, community shifts and so on... But the Lord has always been our foundation & we can honestly say that He is our joy that continues to tie us closer together & more deeply in love everyday!
Unfortunately, we have little to no financial support on our wedding and we recently have had to spend our wedding savings on court and attorney fees (and have to continue to do so) as we are fighting for more time with Josue's daughter who desperately needs more of her daddy during these pivital years in her childhood!
With that being said if you want to support our marriage, rather than a wedding gift, we would really appreciate a donation to help us have a wedding this fall that will allow us to celebrate this long awaited victory with all of our loved ones (from Panama & all around the US). Your gift will help us cover the price of the venue, hotel rooms, food, a wedding dress, and our wedding night hotel room!
Once married, our goal is to become foster parents to children in a very corrupt system, who so desperately long for the love of a father and mother (biological or not)!
With all the racial opposition we have faced in our relationship, we appreciate your support that much more. We can't wait to have a wedding celebration with everyone who has come alongside us and who will continue to support our marriage. Thank you, from the bottom of our heart!
