Help Jose Antonio save his hand.

 My friend Jose Antonio is a fisherman in the tiny village of Zipolite, Oaxaca, Mexico. A few weeks ago, Jose Antonio had a horrible accident while preparing fish for market, which severed all of the tendons and many of the arteries in his left hand. He was rushed to the nearest town with a small hospital where doctors performed emergency surgery to save his life. Thankfully he survived, but the doctors there were not able to properly reconnect his tendons leaving his his hand immobile. Jose's journey to recovery is only beginning. Doctors have informed his family that Jose Antonio will require more surgery in order to regain the use of his hand. Without these relatively simple follow-up procedures, Jose Antonio will ultimately lose his hand all together.

The total expense to restore this man’s health and thus, the livelihood of his entire family is almost nothing by American standards. Unfortunately, the medical bills will be an astronomical sum of money for this humble family from a rustic fishing village.

Now we have a tremendous opportunity to come together as a community and do something incredible with little to no effort. Our smallest sacrifice can change everything for Jose Antonio and his family. Even $5, which is less than the cost of lunch for most of us, can make a huge difference for these wonderful people.
