Fundraising to send Canadian Athlete Jordan Branker to University games in Taipei”. Jordan is a Wing Chun Student training at the Cumberland Martial Arts Academy (the Orleans branch of the Sunny Tang Kung Fu Centre).
The Universiade is an international multi-sport event, organized for university athletes by the International University Sports Federation (FISU). The name is a combination of the words "University" and "olympiad".
The Universiade is the largest multi-sport event in the world apart from the Olympic Games. The 2017 Summer Universiade will be held in Taipei, Taiwan , from August 19 to 30.
"The Cumberland Martial Arts Academy is proud to announce that Jordan Branker will be representing Canada in the 80kg weight category for Sanda competition (Chinese Kickboxing) at the 2017 University Games in Taipei in August.
We would appreciate any support to help send our Canadian Athlete to compete at these illustrious games.
Jordan has been committing a great deal of effort and hard work to prepare himself for an outstanding performance that Canada would be proud of, please join us assisting Jordan in his efforts to proudly represent our great Nation."
