Ayudame a vencer el cancer de mama

Donation protected
Hola,

Johenny :-)

Hello,

My Name is Johenny Guerra, I’m 36 years old and I live in Caracas, Venezuela. I’m an Electrical Engineer graduated from the Universidad Central de Venezuela (UCV). I’m married and I have a beautiful daughter almost 3 years old.

On November 2017 I was diagnosed with infiltrative ductal carcinoma (G2) on the left breast, better known as breast cancer.  I’m currently receiving 8 cycles of chemotherapy, and after that I will need to get surgery to extract the remains of the tumor.

I’ve paid the chemotherapies with the insurance of the company that I work for and with the help of family and friends. The medicines I need for the treatment cannot be found in Venezuela and I had to bring them from abroad. In the Venezuelan Social Security Pharmacies, where in the past all the high cost medicines were donated to the patients, I’ve been able to get only Ondansetron and Neupogen, which are to counteract the side effects, but the ones needed for the treatment are not supplied there.

Due to my cancer being hormonal, I need 18 doses of a medicine called Herceptin (trastuzumab) in 440mg ampoules for 1 year to control it. This medicine is very expensive and cannot be found here in Venezuela neither. The cost of each ampoule is approximately $1500 and I need 4 of them. Regarding the mentioned surgery, given the current situation of the country, my insurance coverage won’t be able to pay for it and the subsequent radiotherapies as needed.

Venezuela is currently going through a severe crisis that includes the social, political and economy, and which impedes all the citizens from covering their basic needs, including health costs. On top of the hyperinflation we are going through, our salaries are devalued day by day, wrecking us in an oppressive poverty that doesn’t allow us to buy not even food.

Nowadays is common to hear “this is not a good time to get sick in Venezuela”, but I did not choose it that way. I must fight right at this moment against this disease that is presented as a test of life, and from which I KNOW I’m going to come out victorious, with God’s favor. In fact, my plan was to migrate to another country with my husband and daughter, looking for a better future for all of us and specially for her, but for the moment we have to delay the plan and decided to face this situation close to our family and friends.

I understand that, with the severe crisis we are living in Venezuela, every single dollar donated will be a great help and I will be very grateful for that. If you wish, you can contact me and I can even send my medical reports if needed.

Thank you so much for your support and your understanding. I hope you can help me and share my history with others as well. God bless you and your loved ones.

Sincerely,

Johenny :-)
