EAGLE SCOUT PROJECT FOR SHAMROCK REINS
Hello, my name is Joey McDowell. I am a Boy Scout in Troop 36, Lenape Valley Church in New Britain, PA. I am currently working on an Eagle Scout service project. My project will consist of building a comforting area around an existing fire pit as well as creating an honor wall for veterans and first responders. Two benches will be constructed to go on either side of the fire pit. Between the two benches, a flower box will be made and a plaque will be placed within it.
I am doing this project for a non-profit called Shamrock Reins. This organization is a 501c3. Shamrock Reins is a relatively new organization founded in 2014, who provides free therapy classes to first responders and veterans with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), as well as their family members. Shamrock Reins believes the family serves along with the Military Service Members. You can visit their website to get a better feel for what it is they do here: Shamrock Reins.
Any money I receive will be directly used towards this project. I plan to carry out this project June 11th so it is very important I reach close to my goal then. Any extra funds will be given to the organization as a donation so that they can continue their efforts for veterans and first responders. This is my Eagle Scout Project, a huge event in my life, but not only is it that, it is also a way to give back to those who serve. We have an obligation to give back to them in any way possible. A project like mine is only one of the many ways we can give back.
I will be so thankful for any and all donations towards my cause. Everything adds up and it will be a great help.
