My Son Joey

Donation protected
Our son Joey McCoy, unexpectedly passed away on February 6, 2018 from unknown causes at this time. We knew he was struggling with alcoholism. He went into a halfway house in hope of getting to a better place, he got a job at IHOP in Pasadena MD and was doing much better, it seemed like everything was going to work out for him.  On February 7, 2018 a homicide detective put a card on his father’s door, and the anticipation of not knowing what happened to our son was overwhelming. Even though within our hearts we knew what the outcome was going to be regarding our son.

He had a heart of Gold and Dick Tracy eyes that would melt your heart, and with that smile, would knock your socks off. Joey is and was my heart, going through life with his ups and downs, which you don’t realize the downs are meaningless, until they are gone. I wish I could have done more.  At this moment my heart just cries and does not know what to do.

He had such a big heart and caring towards anyone that was down and out he would be there with a smile upon his face, a helping hand to help raise you up. He once stopped to help an elder woman finish cutting her grass, he would buy toys and pass out to kids he didn’t even know.  His mother meant the world to him he was so proud of her. At times we laughed so hard about her, we would also share the love of the lord, he touched the world in a special way, and as sad we are, we know he is in heaven with our Lord.

As Joey’s father I was and still very proud of him, even though having knowledge of his addiction to alcohol.

The monies will be used towards his memorial service and cremation. Thank you for all you love and support.
