NJ Player Selected to Team USA LABC

Joseph A DiGrado Jr, aka "Joe D" (Age 10) has been selected to compete on the USA-LABC 10U Baseball team. 5000+ players try out for the 9-18U USA-LABC teams annually at 22 national tryout events held all across the United States. This nationally selected team will be competing at the 2014 Latin American Baseball Classic held in the Dominican Republic August 6th -12th.
The Latin American Baseball Classic is Latin America's biggest youth baseball tournament. Confirmed Teams are: Dominican Republic, British Virgin Islands, St. Croix, USA, Canada and Venezuela with multiple teams. Columbia, Puerto Rico, Brazil and Aruba have been invited and the LABC is awaiting confirmation.
Joe D has worked extremely hard over the past 2 years competing in a 60-80 game season and training tirelessly both during the season and in the off season. During the season, he plays competitive baseball for the NJ Chargers Baseball Organization and with his local Little League in Kenilworth. The Chargers compete in highly competitive weekend club tournaments throughout the year. The 2014 Tournament schedule will include Diamond Nation, Ripken Aberdeen, Sports At the Beach in Delaware and Wide World Of Sports in Disney. Joe D's off season training includes 3-4 nights of baseball workouts and 2 nights of Core strength and agility classes. On his off days Joe D enjoys playing minecraft, singing karaoke and plays basketball for the town league.
Giving is a big part of the humanitarian and cultural aspect of the Latin American Baseball Classic experience. In conjunction with their corporate partners, players will take down bats, baseballs, equipment, donated clothing, school supplies and trinkets to give to the Latin players whom desperately need such items. This allows for the athletes to experience, firsthand, what it is like to have little in the aspects of things most of us take for granted in USA.
This truly is a "once in a lifetime" experience and there is hope that with your help, Joe D will be able to represent the United States and assist the team in bringing home victory to the USA!
We are hoping to obtain gift donations from Friends and Family. All gift donations will go towards covering Airfare, Equipment, donation baggage fees and Hotel Stay.
