Jihan Battles Cancer

This is really hard for me to share. Normally I am a very private person, however recently I have had a big change in my life.  Since October I wasn't feeling well with excruciating pain from my abdomen into my legs and I was told I had fibroids.  In early November after many tests I was diagnosed with stage IV Gynecological Cancer. I was told that I would have to undergo a series of 6 chemotherapy treatments.  I immediately started treatment and chemo has has taken a toll on my body. I have been weak, and have a hard time participating in regular activities. It has not been easy for me and my boys undergoing treatment in the dead of winter in Rochester. I am a student in Grad school and far away from my family and support structure in Jamaica.

I am reaching out because I need support  with funds to help me cover some of my living expenses since I have not been well enough to continue with my paid internship. I also need help with some of my out of pocket medical expenses.  

These funds will help relieve some of my finacial stress and allow me to focus on my healing and recovery. My hope is that with continued treatment I will be able to get back on my feet by summer 2018.
