Lachlans Batty Ewings Sarcoma

Lachlan is a 17 year old young man who lives at home with his mum and his older brother Daniel and two younger siblings, Cooper 11 and Piper who is 8. Lachlan (Locky, as he is affectionately known) had just entered the workforce and was looking forward to a long happy future hanging with his mates and enjoying all life has to offer a teenager. Then he was struck down with Cancer; that dispicable word that strikes fear into the toughest, hardest people, it knows no boundaries, it can strike at any time at any age...... it is a word that, unfortunately is becoming all too common and it affects so many families. It is not fair and it is a never ending battle. When it hits your family especially, your whole life revolves around that person and wanting them to get through this. But sometimes there is nothing we can do, at least not physically, we can't be by their side whilst they receive ongoing treatment, we can't always be there to hold their hand and reassure them they'll be ok, we,can't stop their pain, and we can't be there when a mother is crying beside her child's bedside praying for a miracle, only the closest to them endure all of that and more.....But I know I CAN help by setting up this fund, and by giving them the opportunity to let people help and let them know they're never alone.
Trinity Batty is a single mum of four and after losing her husband, their father, so tragically a few years ago has been left alone to raise her family. She has battled hard to keep the family home, but through hard work and determination and the love of her parents she kept her home and a roof over her adored children's heads. She is a beautiful, loving mum, always putting their needs before her own. She was just getting back into the workforce after studying hard and upskilling herself to give her family a brighter future , when tragedy struck again.. Lachlan has Ewings Sarcoma and it seems now after many Chemo treatment and radiation the cancer has NOT gone and it seems will stay with him, he is in a lot of pain most of the time but it is being managed by lots of medication. He is still in the Royal Children's Hospital but hopes to be coming home soon. He will be in a wheel chair as he is unable to walk due to the cancer being in his bones of his hips and pelvis, and will face many difficulties and the house will need to be modified to accomodate the wheel chair. There is also going to be difficult times ahead getting Locky to and from appointments and hospital stays as Trinity's car is far too small to be able to transport him safely and a new car is definitely not in the budget.. we are and will always stay positive as there is always a chance for a cure or a new treatment and will continue to fight, but it has put a strain on an already tight budget. Trinity has not been approved for a carers pension!! And Locky is unable to work. He has his 18 th coming up in a few months and he  will now not be having the huge celebration he wanted because of ill health and finances.
I have increased the goal of the fund because this will be ongoing for their life so they will need all the help they can get, and I want them to concentrate on getting Locky better and making him comfortable no matter what it takes. We are also organising a Trivia night with all proceeds going to his cause. And to raise awareness for Ewing Sarcoma. This family would never in a million years ask for help and that is why, we, as a family are doing this, to help them realise there are so many generous people out there willing to help. And if you all knew Lachlan Batty you would love him too. He is a gentle, kind, loving young man who adores his mum and his family and has always got a huge hug and smile for everyone he loves. He is so deserving of financial help now and for the future, to give him hope and love and realise what we already know, that he is a beautiful soul and he will beat this terrible disease.
Ewings Sarcoma affects mostly boys but girls as well between the ages of 10 and 20. It usually occurs in the bone but can be located in the soft tissue as well.
