My name is Jestin Samson and I was confirmed to be an at-large delegate from the state of California for Bernie Sanders for the 2016 Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia.
As a delegate, I am not only responsible for representing my state in nominating Bernie Sanders to be the next Democratic Party nominee, but I am also influencial in shaping the democratic platform. So, my vote in Philadelphia is a symbol of millions of Californians who voted for Bernie Sanders and believe in what he stands for. As your delegate, I can assure that I am 100% behind Bernie and his platform. I believe that his values of integrity, honesty, and his belief of social, racial, economic, environmental, and gender justice resonate with me. Likewise, I am going to the convention with a business attitude. I am not going there to rub shoulders, make friends, or party. I am there for one reason only, and that's Bernie. Because of that, I will promise to do everything in my powe to see to it that Bernie Sanders become the next Democratic party nominee and that his platform be the future of the Democratic Party. Likewise, I will uphold Bernie's values of integrity, fairness, and honesty.
The money will go towards my travels to the democratic national convention: $675 for a round trip flight to Philadelphia and back to California, along with any baggage fees.
My Hotel room will cost: $1400 for all four nights. Also, it would be unwise of me or any other delegate to stay off cite because of the high level of security around the convention perimeter. In sum, it will be very difficult for vehicles or people to get into or out of the perimeter. Also, I need to pick up my cridencials for that day and all subsequent days of the convention.
Public transportation to get around Philadelphia: $75.
My cridencials and registration fees is $200
Food and other incidental items (you never know if you need emergency money): $750.
The rest will go to paying the fees that go to Go Fund
Me (Which is about $300).
I am a poor graduate student have no means to pay my way to the convention. My mom, who is the only parent I have left is currently battling stage 4 breast cancer, so she is strapped cash-wise. So, I am in desperate need of your help.
Note:
If the amount of money donated exceeds the requested amount or if I have any remaining money after the Democratic National Convention, those funds will be donated to Breast Cancer Solutions, an organization that provides breast cancer patients with assistance if they are experiencing financial hardship.
