Hey guys my name is Jase Roesnburg and I'm an author. I've written two books and I'm currently working on my third. I've been married 20 years and I have 3 kids. I have always had a deep love for writing. After many years of staring at blank screens and writing mediocre poetry I jumped into writing flash fiction. Then I took the next step and wrote my first novel during NaNoWriMo in 2011. I finished my second book a couple of years after that. Living this dream is everything I hoped it would be, except now I'm at a point where I need help.
On my last two books, I was extremely excited. I made the mistake of cutting corners. I relied on a friend to do my editing. He didn't do a bad job, but he's not a professional and there are some issues. I created the first book cover myself with CreateSpace and the second one I had a friend design. So you can see that I did what I could to avoid major costs. I'm extremely proud of those books and I believe they are good stories. With this one however I'm trying to do it the right way, That's why I'm here.
What do I need?
I need financial help to be able to afford the editing and cover art that I will need to make this the best book it can be.
Editing will cost me roughly 4-5 thousand dollars while cover art will run me around 2 thousand dollars, depending on who does it and if I need separate files for paperback and e-book. I have a total of 7000k
Whatever is left will go toward formating the book and marketing.
I hate to put a time limit on this. I'm afraid that would sound ungrateful. I'll just tell you that I have at least 10 weeks left to finish my first draft, then I'll do a rewrite before submitting to an editor.
What is the book about?
This book is going to be in the YA (Young Adult) fiction category. It's a Christian fantasy loosely based on the rebellion of satan.
The working title is Thirebeth: The battle of the ages begins. The title and character names are subject to change.
It begins in the Maker's realm where Tarea is planning his rebellion. From there we get see what's happening on earth. The land of Thirebeth is one kingdom on earth where the king is beloved by all. The war in the Maker's realm will spill over onto the earth changing everyone's lives.
Erramun a humble farmer has been chosen to be the next King of Thirebeth, he fulfills the ancient prophecies of the one will come to defeat evil. Will he step up and seize his destiny or will his fear and doubt leave everyone to perish.
Herwyn is his arch rival. He is a shrewd business man and finds himself being possessed by the evil Tarea who has been cast from the Maker's realm. Together they will wreak havoc on Thirebeth and do their best to take the crown with their sites set on ruling the earth.
Good and evil will begin their clash in this first of 3 books.
I have all three books plotted and I'm over half-way done with the first draft of this one
Right now I'm sending out a chapter each week to my email subscribers at my blog at www.jaserosenburg.com. I'm asking for feedback on each one so I can try to implement suggestions in the final product. I'd love for you to help me as well.
