Help Jared&Nick to Rio de JaneiROW
WHO WE ARE: We are Jared Naar and Nick Tavares. Raised in Fonthill, we both started rowing for E.L.Crossley High School’s winter/spring rowing program. We continued into summer and fall rowing programs with the South Niagara Rowing Club (SNRC) and rowed every season since. We train between 6-10 times per week depending on the season. Hours, weeks and months of training go into a few 7 minute races a year. The desire to be the best is what keeps us going and the comradery and lasting friendships will stay with us forever.
SUCCESS: Many gold, silver and bronze medals have been won between us at very prominent competitions each year since 2011 such as Stotesbury, SRAA, CSSRA and Head of the Charles.
WHERE WE'RE GOING: We have worked hard for the past 3 to 4 years towards our goal and all our efforts have paid off. Following a series of time trials and selection regattas, Rowing Canada has nominated us for the Junior National Mens’s Quad. We are proud and excited to represent Canada at the 2015 Junior World Rowing Championships in Rio de Janeiro from August 5th–9th, where we will compete with the best junior rowers in the world. Three weeks of training in July will be away from home in Peterborough. Also, we will compete at a few rowing events including our last test before RIO is at the Row Ontario Championships held here on our own home course, SNRC! Rowing Canada does support this once-in-a-lifetime adventure in various ways, including coaches, facilities and organization. However, each of us will contribute $4200CDN to flights and accommodation during the competition at the 2016 Olympic Regatta course in Rio. 
We’re seeking supporters for our efforts. We aim to raise $8400CDN for the two of us. Any donation, big or small, is greatly appreciated! (We promise to split the donations evenly!)If you cannot donate, please share this information on social media or email it to your friends, family, and even employers who might consider a corporate sponsorship. Off-line donations (checks/cash) will be included in this site & the total goal. All supporters will be invited to join us for a farewell party in late July before we leave to Rio. We will take pictures with all our supporters and friends.
