Help Me represent our Country!

For those of you who don't know me yet, I'm Jag Moussa and I'm an award-winning professional hairstylist. I work independently out of a hip salon in downtown Calgary (Canada) and am privileged to have a long list of unique and supportive clients, many of whom have been with me since I started my hairstyling career 10 years ago.

My passion for hair started at a very young age. I was raised by hairstylist parents both of whom are accomplished in their careers and at national and international hairstyling competitions. So, my love for competitive hairstyling comes naturally and is the most exciting part of my career and my life.

Last year my career really started to peak when I won the National Championship for Creative Styling and placed 7th in the world in The Progressive Cut and Colour Category at OMC Hair World in Frankfurt, Germany. This was the highest placing for an individual Canadian at the World Championships! Most recently, I competed at the ABA Edmonton Provincial Hairshow and placed first in the Ladies Technical Cut and Colour category.  I have placed in the top 3 in many provincial events and volunteer my time to the Allied Beauty Association as an Inter-Provincial Master Judge. I also create hair styles for editorial fashion projects and mentor up-and-coming competitors.  These are unpaid roles as I feel it's important to give back to the craft that I love.

I'm so excited to be representing Canada at two major international hair competitions in 2015 and 2016. The 2015 Europe Cup takes place in Paris this September. This competition is the lead up event to the World Championships where world class competitiors come to showcase their designs and battle head to head to see who can catch the judges eye and gain momentum leading up to the World Cup.

In March next year, I'll be competing at the 2016 World Cup in Korea. This is the largest hair competition in the world and the industry refers to it as the "Olympics of Hair". I'm proud knowing I'll be toe-to-toe with the most accomplished hairstylists in the world at two of the most prestigious events in the hairstyling industry.

It takes talent and a lot of money to be able to compete at the international level; time off work, training, fees, models, materials, flights, meals and hotel rooms really add up. And, since I'm an independent stylist, any time off work is unpaid time. To reach my goal of raising  $10,000 at the end of September for Paris.  I need a team of people supporting me and that's why I'm looking to my friends, family, clients, colleagues, suppliers and anyone out there who loves hair and fashion to join my team and share in my success!

I have created a Facebook Page dedicated to my journey you can find it at: https://www.facebook.com/jagspathtothepodium. I have many pictures of my work posted and I am excited to see the page grow. I'll update my progress over the next few months so you can share in the training process with me and see how your donations are helping me achieve my goals and dreams.

Thanks so much for your support and encouragement!

Sincerely,

Jag Moussa
