John Paul Filippi Recovery Fund

Donation protected
Ten years ago, on January 24th, 2007, four Center Twp, PA Area students were involved in a horrific automobile crash. The driver of the car lost control and crossed the median into oncoming traffic where a pick-up truck struck them from behind. One passenger, Chelsey Roman, was killed in the crash. John Paul Filippi suffered a severe brain stem injury. John Paul was in a coma for a short period of time and his current medical status is he is a functional quadriplegic.

John Paul’s recovery has been long and hard on him and his family.  Although John Paul does answer questions, he is not communicating freely or consistently.

Fast forward to today, John Paul is still alive and well but the recovery process not only took a lot of time, it created many expenses for the Filippi family needed to provide the proper care for John Paul. These expenses include: medical equipment, physical therapy, future medical procedures, modifications to the home, as well as in home nurses to keep John Paul healthy day to day.

It costs about $12,000 to pay for these necessary expenses which the family hosts an annual fundraising golf outing each year to cover those costs. The golf outing costs about $18,000 to host before the family sees any of the money needed for that following year. We are hoping to raise the $30,000 by September 2018 (before the next golf outing) to lessen the stress and weight of this financial burden for the family.

Any help that you can provide would be greatly appreciated! And Remember, "No Amount is Too Small to Help John Paul!"

Thank you!
