Itihasika our organization, was born out of a simple dream. To create a world class ecosystem on Indian history and make it available to Indian kids and young adults across the world .

And we will do it via - animation movies, comics, pop art and games that target age groups 8 to 18. This is because things learnt at this impressionable age last a lifetime.

To test the idea we made 2 movies on Shivaji Maharaj and Lachit Borpukan using basic animation. They cumulatively got more than 5 million views on Youtube without spending one rupee on marketing. This inspired us as people were clearly hungry for this kind of content.

The next step was crowdfunding for an animation movie called 'Navyug ke Dashavataar'. Its a 2 part animation magnum opus on ten historic characters that contributed to establishing dharma when there appeared to be no hope for Bharat. The ten heroes are from across regions and across centuries  of the past millennium. Using their life stories the movie showcases a lot of general Indian history and its contexts.

Using the same funding we also created a world class website www.itihasika.com and 10 comic books on the same heroes. All are available for sale on the website.

Our next step is to make a similar movie on 10 women heroes in the last thousand years and comic books on women heroes.

And now we seek your generous donations for the second phase. Its not only extremely time consuming but also very expensive to build this legacy for our next generations. The specifics of where the money will be used for is provided below.

Navyug ke Dashavataar - Part 2 - $5,000
Movie on 10 iconic women - $20,000
Printing comic books - $5,000
Marketing and promotions - $10,000

Bharath, with its thousands of years of history is a treasure trove of cultural, social, anecdotal and most importantly spiritual information. We intend to promote true unbiased history which glorifies local heroes and unifies Indians. Help your loved ones connect the stories of our history to the broader culture. Have fun making our past relevant in our present world. Our innovative products will stimulate learning ability, increase cultural awareness, improve cognitive ability and build confidence.

Come join us in this interesting journey and donate for our cause. All donors will get a free DVD of our final work.

The beneficiary of this campaign is Aditi and organization Itihasika.

We need yoru help in our next project to create 22 wonderful comics on Indian history and make them mainstream. So that we tell Indic stories with an Indian lens.

Please consider matching your donation of what you had given for the animation movie on this link - https://www.gofundme.com/manage/indian-history-comics

Itihasika ( www.itihasika.com) our organization, was born out of a simple dream. To create a world class ecosystem on Indian history and make it available to Indian kids and young adults across the world. And we will do it via - animation movies, comics, merchandise and games that target age groups 8 to 18.

Our history text books unfortunately sideline Indic heroes or brand them as insignificant local kings. Itihasika will attempt to change the narrative to make Indic heroes mainstream. We are also fusing concepts of Hinduism with the stories so by reading these comics your children will know their heroes, their villains, their saints and their culture. We picked one hero from each century and geographically covered all parts of India. We will also keep a very modern look and feel that appeals to teenagers and young adults.

The male heroes of last 1000 years, one from each century that we will cover are Rajendra Chola, Jayasimha Siddharaja of Solanki dynasty, Rana Kumbha of Mewar, Kapilendra Deva Gajapati of Kalinga, Krishna Devaraya of Vijayanagara, Shivaji maharaj, Lachit Borphukan of Ahom Empire, Peshwa Bajirao Ballal, Dharma Raja Kartika of Venad & Ranjit Singh of Sikh empire. The heroic women from last 1000 years, one from each century that we will cover are Rani Didda of Kashmir, Rani Naiki Devi of Gujrat, Rani Rudramma of Andhra, Chand Bibi of Deccan, Keladi Chenamma of Karnataka, Ahilya Bai Holkar of Indore, Sada Kaur of Punjab, Rani Lakshmibai of Jhansi and Rani Gaidinliu of Manipur. We will have these 22 comic books available in print edition, e-books and also as a mobile app.

However this venture is not only extremely time consuming but also expensive. The cost of hand drawing illustrations and digitizing it for a 70 page comic comes to around $500. That makes it 22 comics of $500 each. This comes to $13,200. There are always unexpected expenses that come in along the way and hence we need to be prepared with $15,000 which is our target amount. Please donate for the cause and give the gift of history and heritage to your future generations. Thank you.

I’m outside the post office and your DVDs have just been shipped.
There are very few things in the world as pleasurable as keeping a promise after lot of challenges.

2 years ago we had asked donors to contribute for an animation movie on last 1000 years of Indian history. Our history told from our perspective.

We had no clue on animation, we had no idea about the steps, we had no idea about technical challenges, we had no idea about logistics & DVD making

But we had a deep desire to contribute to positive Indic narrative & make a reasonably decent movie

We also knew that proper commercial studios incur a cost of $4000 per minute of animation, low level or basic studios also charge $400 per minute. And after all the generous contributions we merely had $40 per minute of animation.

Event that did not stop us.

We did whatever we had to do & at several points were very scared that will we or will we not be able to keep our promise

Today we are extremely proud standing outside the post office having mailed every single DVD out.

Please note however that depending on your location you’ll get it at different times

1) US residents will have it in their hands within 3-4 days. Please keep some time aside next weekend to watch it with your family

2) Singapore, UAE, Malaysia, Australia, New Zealand & UK donors it’ll take 2.5 weeks to reach

3) Indian donors we have shipped in bulk to an India address. Once it clears customs & gets there the India contact will ship individual DVDs. So it might take around a month. Sorry but just some more patience.

Hope you all enjoy the movie which you so generously contributed.

We have many exciting next projects lined up. Bit that we’ll discuss later. For now let’s just enjoy the fact that a HUGE milestone has been ticked!

Thank you very much once again to everyone that donated

Dear Donors,

We have absolutely delightful news. After almost 2 years of working hard finally we have our DVD ready to ship. You will have the movie 'Navyug Ke Dashavataar - Part 1' - the magnum opus of Indian history of the last 100 years in both English and Hindi.

A lot of you provided your address and we have it recorded. If you have relocated since you have given us the address please email the new address to info@itihasika.com by end of day today

If you have never given us your address then please email is on the same id.

Within a month we will also have this movie available on Vimeo for those who prefer digital streaming.

There are many exciting ventures that we are working on in parallel and will be reaching out to you for help. There is part 2 of this movie, a new movie on 9 heroic women and a comic series,

Our website www.itihasika.com is also shaping up beautifully. The unique selling point is a interactive map of last 2000 years of India where you can click and get more information. Try it out.

Also would really appreciate if you like our work and want to donate more as all these endeavors cost a lot of money and we need it to make sure that we have a world class ecosystem for Indic history.

Thank you,
Team itihasika
