Ive been making cakes for nearly 5 years now, mostly as a hobby and after being put out of work as a ceramic artist last year I have since set on the road to turning my hobby and passion into a business
I enter lots of compertions and strive to push myself further. Im a multi award winning cake artist after winning lots of gold awards. In 2013 I won best in show at cake international with Bella the turtle cake, If you have seen this cake you will know alot of people commented saying it was so real they almost thought it would walk off the table, and too me that was the best feeling in the world. It meant more than anything winning that year as the show opened on what would of been my nans 92nd birthday, so I named her Bella after my nan as a tribute
Im sometimes refered to as turtle lady!
Mmy cakes are not just cakes, they are an edible art form and it is now that im wanting to push myself further out there and get a business up and running but being unemployed makes things really difficult. I have a workshop but im currently unable to afford to purchase an oven which is vital to making cakes. I would also need some starting stock such as boads, boxes and icing to start me up until I get a steady income. With the remainder of the money, if it happens, I would love to get a small website set up to professionally showcase my work and eventually develope some product ideas in the future that I can make available for all to purchase and use, fun ideas that will make other cake decorators lives easier.
If anyone can help turn my cakey dream into a sucess then Ill be eternally greatful, I just want to cake the world and have fun doing it
