Dear Potential Donor,
My name is Matthew Netzke and this coming January I'll be travelling to Haiti with Westbow Construction and Hungry for Life International on a combined relief effort. Having said that, while the funds I'm trying to raise will benefit the children affiliated with what we'll be doing down there, this is a little something extra I'd like to try and achieve. I have been playing music most of my life and I can very clearly remember when I began. I can trace it back to an afternoon that my aunt stopped by and left in my possession a bass guitar. Now, I can't begin to explain the circumstances that that single act of kindness has made in my life but I can say that although I didn't know it at the time, it changed everything. Music has taken me to far away places and somehow always made me feel close to home. It has kept me company during times of loneliness and called the most beautiful people into my life. It has been a part of my greatest victories and of each humble defeat. I honestly don't know where I'd be without it.
The purpose of this campaign is to pay some of that forward.
My goal is to deliver fifty ukuleles to the school we'll be working alongside.
Thanks to Hannah Mackie and the Highroad Academy's donation my ukulele total is at seventeen already!
So........
The $$$$ breakdown is this:
33 ukuleles (aprox$40ea.) $1,320
50 sets of replacement strings (aprox$5ea.) $250
5 ukulele songbooks (aprox$20ea.) $100
Aprox. 5% GoFundMe fee (on $1800) + $90
Aprox.= $1760
*Any and all extra funds will be donated to the school directly.
The Ukuleles will need to be bought together to receive a discounted price and will need 10 working days once ordered to arrive so I'd like to set a donation deadline date of December 31st, 2016. We leave for Haiti January 24th.
