On November 11th, Nikki Hagan, a student at Concordia University Saint Paul, was "forced to resign" her position as a leader on the 908 Chapel board because she was dating a female. The 908 Chapel Board is a student group on campus that leads worship service on Wednesday nights. After hearing about this situation, many students were angered and confused as to how this could happen.
After talking to the president, vic president, and the pastor, there has been no real change after the things that happen to Nikki. We, allies of Nikki and herself, are now at the point that we are taking it into our own hands. With the help of many students, faculty, and staff at CSP we are ready to start taking the steps to gain positive change in the University. For more information check out our page:

This Page is to get funds to go toward materials such as, stickers, posters, buttons, shirts, snacks and drinks for events, etc. We need these things to spread the hashtag #IstandWithNikki and to promote Nikki's story and those like hers. Also, the extra funds are going to go to the start of the LGBT group we are trying to start oon campus, a group for queer students and allies to feel comfortable and converse.
The main goal is to bring positive change here at Concordia. We want to make sure that all students feel welcomed. We want to make sure all students are safe and protected against harassment and discriminational acts that happen on campus. Our school faith statement is "Christ is Honored, All are Welcome."
We pride ourselves on being the most affordable and diverse private university in the Twin Cities, and yet things like this are allowed to happen.
The funds are needed as soon as possible! Our events are starting next week, Novemeber 30, 2015.
