Javea's ISVH Bomberos Voluntarios

The ISVH Bomberos Voluntarios are based in Balcon Al Mar in Javea. A team of 15 local, voluntary firefighters give up their time and regularly risk their lives to keep the people of Javea safe.
The ISVH is a 900 strong residents committee that has been in existance for over 40 years. The ISVH Bomberos are a part of this group and rely on funding from the Town Hall and donations, but the majority of the funding is provided by the residents within the committee who reside on Balcon Al Mar, Costa Nova, Granadella, La Cala, Mar Azul and other urbanisations on the Cap de la Nao Peninsula.
The donations will be received directly into the ISVH Commitee bank account.It will remain there until the Board and the Bomberos have decided on how it should be best spent.
I am the wife of the Captain of the Bomberos and also a "friend" of the Board of the ISVH. I have worked closely with the Board and Bomberos for over 5 years. For 3 years I sat on the Board as a spanish liaison contact.
I am now the administration for the the Bomberos and assist when they have call outs in the firestation.
Replacement of damaged equipment is essential - but following these recent fires in such high temperatures we will consider the purchase of light weight fire jackets for all bomberos, a lighter, more efficient pool pump -which can be operated by one bombero, and torches for night work.
So, this page has been set up to raise much needs funds to support their on going work, particularly in replacing equipment lost or damaged in the recent fires that received worldwide coverage across the media. Fires are still raging in Javea and our Bomberos are out there extinguishing them
At the current time, we are looking to replace several radio's lost in the fires and replace damaged hoses and pistols used in exstinguishing the forest fires. One of our vital pumps was also damaged and we are keen to get that replaced too so that we can continue to protect the homes and people of Javea.
