Help Us Fight for Estheticians at the Statehouse
Problem: The IL Dept of Professional Regulation has issued a policy statment prohibiting estheticians from doing many of the services they have been trained to do (including chemical peels, microdermabrasion (except superficial), dermaplaning and radio frequency. There was a recent proposal pending in Springfield in to put a 6.25% tax on facials, make-up application and hair removal. This is having a negative impact on our livliehood and we need to fight back!
Solution: In order to fight these issues and make Illinois a more "esthetician friendly" state, the profession is banning together to form the IL SOCIETY of ESTHETICIANS (ISE) and we need your support. We are retaining the services of professional lobbyist/executive director Margaret Vaughn, who also represents the electrologists, surgical assistants and many professions regulated by the state and who has been named the Chicago Tribune's "Remarkable Woman" for her successful career.
HOW YOU CAN HELP: Become a donation at our various membership levels or make ANY SIZE donation towards our fundraising goal. We will be planning our first meeting this fall with an educational portion, advoacy update and networking social. Please pass this link along to colleagues and clients.
