Hugh Thompson Could Use Your Help
On May 27th, 2016, Hugh visited the doctor after suffering from a shortness of breath. After the doctors ran a few tests, it was clear that something wasn't right. Shortly after, that the same charming and funny man that we all know and love was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia.
Many of you may know Hugh as being the iconic mixologist at One Ocean Resort, who has won many awards and is passionate about the people he serves, and is likely to charm anyone in his presence. Hugh is a staple within the Jacksonville community and is also an amazing father to his four sons, Trey, Cody, Evan, and Tristan, collectively known as the "Thompson Tribe."
While still trying to digest the news, Hugh and his family are remaining positive. Hugh has already started chemotherapy and other treatments and will be in the hospital for a number of weeks to come. Hugh is passionate about serving others, and he feeds off people's energy. Unfortunately, he will be unable to receive that energy that gives him life while he's out of work and focusing on his health.
While his main priority is to gain back his health, it's hard not to think about the financial stress that comes with a situation like this. We all know that Hugh has the strength and courage to come out of this on top. We will update you while he progresses through his treatments and more information becomes available to us. Until then, we are asking for any help possible to get Hugh back on his feet. We are so grateful for all of your support and concern as he takes on the tough road ahead.
