Can you believe Huell Howser DOESN'T have a Star on the Palm Springs Walk of Stars? I can't!

Someone has got to change that. Well, I'm someone and so are you, so lets get Huell a Star!  The cost of the Star is $10,000. Additional funds will be used for a celebration of all things Huell on his Star Dedication Day.

October 18, 2015, marks what would have been Huell's 70th birthday. Wouldn't it be AMAZING to dedicate his Star on that day? Of course you're invited!

Show your love for Huell and donate what you can, whether it's $5 or $200 or any other amount.  He gave us all so much, it's the least we can do for him!

This Saturday, April 1st from 2-4 at Just Fabulous (one of Huell's favorite shops) in Palm Springs 515 N Palm Canyon Dr, Palm Springs, CA 92262. Today marks the third anniversary of Huell's death. After work I'll take flowers to his Palm Springs STAR and say a little prayer of remembrance for all of us.
Thank you to Where Would Huell Go? for the photo.

I can't believe it's been nearly a week since our AMAZING Star Dedication Ceremony and 70th Birthday Celebration for Huell Howser. Nearly 300 people came to hear our fabulous speakers - Mayor Pro-Tem Paul Lewin, County Supervisor John Benoit, KESQ's Samantha Cortese, KCET's John Mazur, Huell Fan Extraordinaire Shawniece Swain, Chapman University's Rand Boyd, KEZN's Dan McGrath, and, of course, "Hey Louie!" himself, Cameraman Luis Fuerte (author of the soon to be released book, "Louie, Come Get A Shot of This!"). Cameron Tucker, Huell's second-longest running cameraman was on hand as well. We sang along to California Here I Come and Happy Birthday, led ably by the Whistling Diva herself, Carole Anne Kaufman.

I am beyond grateful to each and every donor and the Huell All Stars who helped make this event come true. Beautiful commemorative programs, California's Gold keychains, special birthday cupcakes, apple cider from Laws in Oak Glen, water donated by Home Depot and by Desert Hot Springs Hotel, "Thank you" wine for our speakers from Michael David Winery, a standing full-sized Huell for photos, and our own official Guide Dog Trainee, Webbs, to highlight the "doggie dish" location. It was a dream come true.

Thank you.

Huell was sending us his programming when we were a tiny station just getting started. Anytime you called for information, staff would ask, "Do you want to speak with Huell?" His passion for his subjects made his shows one of a kind. He was One of a Kind, and we miss him.
