Hudson's Veterinary Surgery

Donation protected
I started a book when Hudson was 2. Because it wasn't until then that they found the heart murmur that he was born with (Tricuspid Valve Dysplaysia)... I named the book, ~Hudson's Happy Heart (mainly because he is a CRAZY and energetic lab, and I swear he has no idea he has a heart murmur!) ~ It's not finished, & won't be for a while... so for now the story just continues, and I jot important events down from time to time, and so it continues...

...Hudson was only 1 when I was devastated by a broken heart and a house too big for 1 human. If I hadn't had Hudson by my side for emotional support and unconditional love, I honestly don't believe I would have made it through that time...simply, I owe Hudson my life :o)

In 2013, I was once again broken hearted, only this time, I was also let go from my full-time job just 12 hours after that heart-ache, and then, 8 weeks after that, I lost my basement in the Colorado flood...

Since I was unemployed and out of money, I put $12K on my AMEX card to put my basement back together so that I could find a roommate to help pay for my mortgage...Presently I am still unemployed and looking for a full-time job in Marketing / Branding and design.

In December 2013, I noticed Hudson's lower teeth getting crooked, so when we went for his annual vaccines, the vet told me to go see a specialist/oral surgeon...

Because Hudson has the Heart Murmur, anesthesia is not ideal, so it was scarey to think he would possibly need surgery. First, he needed a re-check for his heart (his gets an annual Echocardiogram and is on 2 different heart meds. everyday for the rest of his life). Two weeks ago, we had a consult with an oral surgeon who wanted to cut 1/4 of Hudson's jaw off in one fell swoop...(I had a total meltdown in the exam room) I decided to get a second opinion... We were recommended to VRCC, and found a great Oral/Dental Vet Surgeon, Dr. Beebe. Hudson's Echocardiogram came back healthy enough to undergo Anesthesia for a Biopsy. So, We just had that done last Friday. After getting those results from the tumor (in the next 2 weeks), Hudson will undergo major surgery to remove the tumor, part of his lower jaw (mandible) and some teeth because the tumor is (unortunately) attached to the jaw bone. It's extremely traumatizing to me at the thought of his beautiful English Lab 'block head' looking anything but perfect, but I know I will be saving his life, like he saved mine, so we can spend more years of unconditional love together!!!!!

I obvioulsy have a ton of debt, and much more as of the last two weeks, but I wanted to try this, because I know SO many friends who are Dog and Cat and animal lovers, and you all have friends who have friends who love Dogs and Cats and animals... and if I could encourge 526 people to donate $20, I could reach my goal and pay for Hudson's surgery, the biopsy, the Echo, the visits and the ongoing meds that he will be on. And that, would be so helpful to my situation, and so very special and from the heart.

WHO IS HUDSON:
Hudson is my everything. period.
When he was 3 he had a limp for a while, only to find out he was jumping off the picnic table on the back deck for fun and hurt his elbow :o), He LOVES the water and will do ANYTHING to get another dog to chase him, he doesn't want to be the chaser, he wants to RUN! He gets into EVERYTHING and he thinks tubberware is a dog chew toy! If it's shreddable, he will shred it. Now, I'm like, C'mon, you're 7! He's like, "so what's your point? I'm a LAB!" :o) I have found stamps, grocery receipts, duct tape and portions of drywall on the roof of his mouth, but he has never eaten my socks :o) He whines when he's bored, and will find the most ANNOYING squeaky toy to get your attention just when you need to hear something important on the TV! When you take him for a leashed walk, he is a ROLLER, on the dewy grass, the snow, the fall leaves, you name it, he has to stop and roll and roll and roll!!! And if he's off-leash, he comes home as dirty as possible. Finding water, moving, stagnant, puddles, and deep ditches of mud (oh, that's his favorite)... then he is in his glory!!!! Out of all of his antics, the one MOST IMPORTANT thing he has brought to my life is LAUGHTER - no matter WHAT state of mind I am in. He makes me laugh and love and realize life IS good, especially with a DOG in it.

He has been there for me through SO many of life's struggles. No, I don't think he's human or my child, he's more than that, he's my DOG - and he only gets to be with me for a short time, shorter than my human loved ones, because that's just the way it is. But, in this case, Hudson just turned 7, and I would give ANYTHING to have him in my life for a few more years to come... I hope you will consider donating to 'Hudson's Happy Heart' (AKA: mouth surgery)...He's my goofy, neurotic, crazy, silly, loyal, happy, doesn't know he has a heart murmur, majestic Lab, and he's got this huge piece of my heart and I want him to stay right there and here for a while.... I hope you will support us through this tough journey.

PS. I realize there are so many people out there that need money and have way more critical events going on in their lives, but this is the most important piece of my heart, and I thought it couldn't hurt to reach out to those friends and family who care... and I can never thank you enough for helping Hudson's fight.

From My heart and Hudsons,
THANK YOU for any donation you are able to give!

All my love for the dogs and cats and animals out there,
Mychele

PPS. I added one last ''wish list'' item, and tried to make it 1 penny, but the minimum set is $5.00, because I figure, why not let you all know I still am looking for a job! :o) You don't need to buy that one, but you can email me ([email redacted]) if you have someone who needs me!!!!! HINT HINT!
