Hi, we're Hot Tin Roof - 9 women on a comedy mission. Angela, Chelsey, Darby, Dee, Gavi, Kelly, Sarah, Stefani, and Silvana. We're a comedy team based in Los Angeles, CA, and have been performing improv and sketch together at theaters like Second City for almost a year. Recently, we were accepted into the Seattle Improv Festival - SO AWESOME, RIGHT?
As an all-female team, we feel it's super important to attend this festival to represent for all women in comedy in a positive, supportive, and professional way!
Why are we fundraising?
The festival is February 15th-19th, and we're slated to perform two shows that weekend. We are honored and excited to perform in a new city and foster new relationships in the comedy world! Seattle is known for smart comedians, and we've been working hard to be the sharpest we can be.
As working actors, we often have to piece our expenses together, work weird jobs, etc. We know what it means to hustle and work hard. Although some of our team has been able to buy flights with points or credit, it's really important to our growth to be able to attend with all members. Your help will get us all there in just a few weeks!
How will we be using our funds:
Roundtrip airfare for 8 (approx $220 rt per person)
Housing/AirBnB for 4 days in Seattle ($1400ish depending on availability)
Why should you help us?
We could go on and on about our dreams and how hard we work, but here's some bulletpoints (like scientific facts, only less scientific):
-We are an all-female comedy team in a world that is traditionally very much a boy's club.
-Although it should be a level playing field by 2017...it's not. Each opportunity to perform is a huge victory and as women we do not take that for granted.
-We are the ONLY TEAM from California invited to the Seattle Improv Fest.
-In addition, we are the ONLY TEAM from the WEST COAST invited to the Seattle Improv Fest! WOO!
-Performing outside of LA opens our professional and creative networks, fosters new relationships, and takes our focus to the next level.
