Hi friends! It's been a while since our last update, but here we go!
Hoffie has been fighting hard and doing some serious ass kicking. However, the other day she received news that the cancer has moved into her lower spine. We have organized a Facebook group to try and do some more fundraising and to organize transportation and meals for the Hofmann family. If you have a moment, please search for Hope for Hoffie on Facebook. It is a closed group, but you can request to be added. Right now we are working on putting together an online auction, so if you have an item that you'd like to donate to the auction, please message me with a picture of the item so that I can put everything together.
Thank you for your continued support and all your prayers and well wishes.
Whew! It's been quite some time since we've updated this page, so bear with me as there is a lot of news to share!
Hoffie had her scans this week. The good news is that there is no new growth. YAY! The cancer has stabilized, so it's not growing/spreading/etc. She will do another cycle of the treatment and have another scan in three months. The bad news is that she will out of school for the rest of the year. Boo. We miss her so much!
Also, if you have donated to our page, if you would be a dear and email Hoffie at email@example.com your mailing addresss, that would be fantastic! Hoffie is asking for the mailing addresses of her donors, so don't forget to send that to her.
I hope everyone has had a wonderful holiday season and that your new year is off to a great start! Please be sure to spread the love and share this page!
"I'm doing good.....this is my up week. I have my 2nd cycle of Chemo next week on Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday. This cycle I will be using the chemo drug Topotecan but also will have this new drug called Avastin......which is still in clinical trials. "
Please keep Hoffie in your thoughts and prayers next week.
Also, if you are in the area and are willing to put together a meal for the Hofmanns, please let me know and I will get with you to arrange that.
So tonight was the big night! We raised the funds necessary and we had a grand old time at our annual Pajama-Rama! The kids at the school were so excited and I think EVERY parent had their camera or phone out to record this event! If you have any photos or video of the Great Shave Off, please email them to firstname.lastname@example.org. I would love to see what you all have captured!
In other news, my brother now has to shave his head...although it won't be as big of an event as my shave off (sorry brother), but this time I get to hold the clippers! Buzz Buzz!!
So we have a new goal of$5000 to meet. Give me some time to think and I'll come up with a new incentive.
Thank you all for your love, donations, sharing of the link, and all your support! I am so touched by all the love and support that has been shown for sweet Hoffie! Love you all!
HOLY MOLY! WE DID IT! We really did it!!! $3000 by December 3!!! I'm so amazed by everyone's generosity and love for Hoffie and her family!!! I bumped the goal to $4000, but as promised - the hair is GOING...TONIGHT - BGE - sometime between 6 - 7:30!
Good morning! I am so excited to see that we have reached 70% of our goal! You all have done a fantastic job of sharing this page, donating, and sharing the love! I certainly believe that we can raise the $3000 BEFORE December 3. So I am slowly accepting the fact that I will be doing the Great Shave Off at our annual Pajama-Rama!
Once we reach $3000, I will go in and adjust the goal to $4000. I would LOVE to have all donations in by December 6th. That way we have time to withdraw the money and get it to Hoffie and her family before Christmas. How awesome would that be?!
Once again, thank you for everything that you have done to help support Hoffie during this time! Lots of love and hugs!
Two challenges for all our friends and family out there:
1) Hit the goal BEFORE December 3rd. If we can meet the goal by the 3rd, the Shaving of the Hair will be done in front of a live audience at Button Gwinnett's Annual Pajama-Rama!
2) SURPASS our goal, at least $4000, by December 3rd and you get two shaves! My brother, Steve, has agreed to shave his head as well! Which is saying a lot because I think he finally figured out a good look for himself and now he's going to shave it all off, if we can $4000!!!
Warm and hearty thanks to those who have donated! Your kindness and generosity speak volumes about the love you have for Hoffie!!
Wowza! Every day that I check this page, I continue to be blown away by all the kind words and generous donations! If we happen to meet the goal before you get a chance to donate, don't let that stop you! Just because I set what I believed to be a modest goal, does not mean we can't do better!! You all have my sincerest thanks and I'm so thankful to be a part of this!
WOW! I am so amazed at the generosity of Hoffie's friends and family! I never imagined that we'd be this close to our goal so quickly! If I had known this was the response I was going to get, I would have set the goal for much higher! It's going to be a COLD winter with no hair!
Yesterday afternoon, I stole Hoffie and Andrea away for a little bit. With the help of Tracie and a local photographer, Miranda Williams (Rogue Beauty Photography), Hoffie was given a make over and had some beautiful pictures of herself and Andrea taken. These photos are absolutely amazing and we were so happy to be able to provide Hoffie with this opportunity!
This page is dedicated to a beloved friend - Anttonia Hofmann. "Hoffie" is the media center paraprofessional at Button Gwinnett Elementary. If you've ever met her, you know she is one of the most kind, loving, and genuine person you will ever meet. She always has a smile on her face and always has a kind word. She is a mother of two boys, a wife to Bill, and a grandmother to a beautiful baby girl.
Hoffie is now facing her THIRD round with cancer. After battling cervical cancer and kicking its behind, it came back and was found in her lymph nodes. Never a quitter, Hoffie fought back and won round two. But cancer is a stubborn beast and has returned, this time in the form of metastatic lesions on her other lymph nodes.
I started this GoFundMe page in order to raise money to help Hoffie and her family with all their expenses. Last year we raised over $4000.00 for Hoffie and I lost all my hair. :) This year her fight continues and we are still looking for support! Please search Facebook for the group "Hope For Hoffie" and request to be added. We will be using the group as a platform to continue to share news about Hoffie and organize transportation and meals for the family.
