Hooked on Trails

Tax deductible
In a region like ours in northern Dutchess County, with such vast and varied natural beauty and prosperity, our community should have all the opportunities to enjoy the famed outdoors of the Hudson Valley. Pedestrian and bicycle trails are no longer a luxury but a necessity in towns like Red Hook, filled with children, young families, a well-known college, and a revival in small-town economic development. Safe off-road trails are needed – trails that will provide connectivity to other trails and points of interest, such as schools, restaurants, and shopping, so that people no longer need to walk or bike on dangerous roads or rely on the use of a car to get around.

This proposed Saw Kill Link Trail will provide just that. It will create the most direct and scenic off-road trail between two popular points of interest: the Village of Red Hook and the Village of Tivoli. Residents and visitors alike will enjoy safely walking and biking between the Village of Red Hook – with a sizable school district and a burgeoning restaurant and retail scene – and Bard College, continuing further on to the existing Tivoli Bays Preserve trails and into the charming Village of Tivoli with its own restaurants, hotels, and shops.

We have the opportunity right now to receive New York State funds in the amount of $1.6M towards the Saw Kill Link Trail if we are able to raise the matching funds. We are aiming to raise 10% of the matching funds through the community's participation. Please help make this trail possible with a donation.

All funds go toward the mission of our non-profit 501c3 Greater Good Dynamics’ (Tax ID:  81-3975480) project, the Hook Trail, which is to connect the community of Red Hook through safe and scenic trails.

We must reach our goal and mission before we miss this matching fund opportunity. With a donation and a share, you can make the difference! Your support can help elevate and integrate the community (yes, this is true!).

All donations are tax-deductible.
